Seasons
Seasons come &
The seasons go
Greying hair
My seasons show
Life rushes past
I attempt to hold
Onto this moment
Impossible I know
I too have had
My youthful spring
My leaves were green
A strong, healthy tree
I faced my summer
With dreams & hopes
Set sail upon a salty sea
within my own boat
Faced life’s struggles, joys
And storms
Until I reached that
Shore where autumn’s born
A slowing down of
Energies, duties, hoping
A possible rest
Now for the greater test
I enter winter’s gates
More snow-filled hair
Hilly crags upon the face
Life I know some better
Received a fuller taste
Grace has allowed me
To enter a long life
God’s blessings still come
Even amidst the strife
His beauty always there
Among all joys and cares
His glorious life He offers
Infinity He shares
As my winter ends
Colder winds may be my fate
But I for sure now know
they only blow
To open eternity’s gates
