The March

The March

March, March, March

Marching thru life

We will all go on

Restless and in strife

Without the truth of

Reality’s sight

People on a sidewalk’s

Hardened concrete surface

March through existence

And only death’s curse

And its unending insistence

Will finally end their march

If we only will open our eyes

Peruse what lies beyond

That thinnest veil of the skies

Look up, a loving God waits

Longing, sighing wishing

Your unhappy pain to abate

Do not stay lost

Lonely in that pain

Look up

Let Him call your name

Take that tiniest first step

Eternity’s most splendid pleasures

Wait to be your greatest gain!

Jeremiah

Jeremiah

Jeremiah, Jeremiah

With your prophet’s heart on fire

In our city’s streets

You’re crying

Hands raised

Pleading as you’re

Sighing

You are trying to inspire

With the Spirit’s holy flame

Dark, hardened hearts

The Post-modernist’s only

Claim to fame

Return to me, I’ll

Return to you

our God says

Elohim, Creator

Holding out hands

Your eternal Father

Crystal tears He sheds

As we toss & turn on beds

Deep in sweaty pain

Caused by sin, illicit gain

Greed’s ugliest names

Only ourselves to blame

Worshipping things

That we have made

With restless hands

We reach for our graves

Affirming our own verdict

A terrible day is coming

Oh, there will be a mighty burning

Heaven, earth

Gone with a thunderous roar

Souls with anguish will be torn

Knowing their last chance

Forever is no more

In life their hearts they

Hardened

Disobedient,

refused their pardon

To follow a loving Father’s

Path for life

Chose their own way

Depravity’s lusts

Into His hands

They would not trust

Their only souls

So now the bell does toll

The old world’s ways

Are forever sold

Into oblivion’s

Darkest pit

So, please listen,

As the prophet calls

Heed the warnings clearly told

In a Holy Book of old

Save yourself

and

Someone else!!

Low Country

Low Country

Lowlands

Wet and swampy

Unfit for much

Except life

Suited to live

Among the muck

It does not matter

How rich, how high

You think you live

I tell you no lie

Earth as it is now

Is that low country,

Our lowlands

This level of existence

We now pass thru

This lower level of life

This body even with resistance

Still crumples and dies

A chasm we cannot cross

Except thru death

Separates us temporarily

From the highlands

In a clearer air there

Will we breathe

God’s higher land

calls our name

Do not turn a deaf ear

Until you can no longer hear

Its gracious call

His promises will sound

as always, Faithful

Never run us aground

Reach for the higher path

And walk in that

purer, more noble land

Words

Words

Words, words

That drip from

The tip

Of my pen

Or the corner

Of my lip

Words, words

Spit out into the sky

They whiz, they buzz, they fly

Inherently imbibed

With power

For the hour

Into whence they have

Been sent

Sometimes careless,

Sometimes meant

To build or destroy

So be careful with those words

Those unkind or gracious pearls

Thrown like darts

Out from the heart

Let them pour

Another target to be scored

Do not allow our only world

To be killed

Rather let them always spill

Out joy’s true kindness!

Description: Beneath layers of glamourous country music stars and professional athletes, deceit, brutality and murder stalk the city sidewalks of Nashville, Tennessee, Music City USA, as heaven and hell clash in a vicious battle for possession of an ancient scroll.

On a steamy day in August, a young man dies from the Ebola virus on a downtown sidewalk. Close to midnight on the same day, tires screech and a young girl screams as the body of Father Tom McClarin smacks against the hard, cold asphalt in front of the cathedral where he serves. Both men’s destinies have been bound together by their mutual belief in the scroll and its unique message.

Detective Hayden Douglan and Samual Thomas, a local pastor, follow the clues piling up and conclude both deaths are homicides. Faith and courage will be tested as the investigation leads from corruption in the highest levels of the religious community and police department to a powerful mystic cloistered behind the walls of beautiful Saint Alaric Monastery near Vienna, Austria.

Excepts from Chapter 18: #1 The young men continued to approach his resting place. With each step they grew larger and larger before his eyes until just a few steps away, they stopped and hesitated for a few seconds. Without saying a word, they parted in the middle to reveal silhouetted against the brilliance of the fire the form of another taller, young man. Was it Samual’s imagination or the intense light from the fire behind the young man’s form, but was this newly revealed creature itself also on fire?

#2 Warmth filled his large dark eyes, and his lips were bowed in a smile that drove all the apprehension out of Samual’s body. It was then Samual remembered ‘Perfect love driveth out all fear’. Was a perfect love standing before him now?

#3 He’s praying Samual thought as he watched the young man’s bowed head.

#4 The searing heat of the pain was being replaced with a cool refreshing. Samual’s whole body felt as if it was floating above the hard ground, and the sudden intense scent of flowers and tangy spices filled the small encampment. The last sight before his eyes as he started to lose consciousness again was the light from the fire dancing across each face as they watched the effects of the young healer’s power.
