A chance at its new birth

A fresh start
Watching to reward
Each beating heart
With a different level
Of existence
Then

Does He even today
Still meet with such 
determined resistance?

Why do we prefer
Our own cruelty
To Christ’s love?
Falling constantly
On our heads, shoulders
From skies above
Showing no one favoritism
His salvation’s glory contained
