Idols, Idols
Everywhere
I look, 
I stare
Turning my head
I can see
Enticing, me
To Believe
In their goodness
What a mess!

You have yours
I have mine
They’re hard to let go
Hard to unwind
Most of the flesh
To understand
Not such a great test
Power, Money
Material Possessions 
Sex
At time, they can lead
To extremes of regret

In love with ourselves
We run, we fume, we struggle
At times, in singles
Or often in doubles
We collect, we hoard
Then grasp
We should feel insecure
Nothing down here really 
Lasts

Reach for the eternal,
A Holy Immortal God
Please, oh please
In Him learn to trust
He desires to love us!
His blessings
They can be known
So, don’t stand out in the
Dark, all alone
Reach for wisdom
And take yourself off 
The idol’s throne!!
