In the Beginning
Chronicle IIn the beginning there
Was nothing outside of Heaven
So, in the beginning
God decided
To create
For Himself
A World
He hummed, “You know, Son
We have so much to share
Of kindness
Love, joy
Sometimes I feel
Like
I might explode
Or implode
I cannot hold
It all in
any longer.”
So with a whirl
And a twirl
And a small jiggle
Or was it a wiggle
God created
His earth.
Gleaming, shining
With life
It glowed
Just to show
Its Creator’s Glory,
This story of
His Love
Slowly, He stroked
With one gentle hand
The lion’s mane.
“Look, it’s heart beats
I think I just
Might keep
This one.
But you know what
I think I need me
A Man.”
“What is a man, Father?”
“Just watch.”
He blew on the dust
And with one single thrust
Of one finger
He raised him from the ground.
God smiled.
Happy, pleased and joyful,
He turned to his newest son,
“Welcome to life, Adam,
And this,
Your new Paradise!”
