Oh, I pray For a great awakening As in the time of George Whitfield Those fiery days A world's revival To stave off, undo Any apostasy Which without You Lord Christ Is a world lost In its own Dark destiny
On this holy weekend May we be reminded Over and over Again and again How with Your Glorious Sacrifice You came our souls To win To pull us up out of Our deep depraved And abyss-destined sin So in this season of our TODAY (these words I love to say) May Your Heaven's Gates Be flung open Forever, ever, ever Never to come to any end!
Can you imagine Sitting Looking At God In the flesh For any human Such a weighty test
Always on this world Will there be unrest With each other Heaven and hell Are not compatible This issue Well, It's not even debatable
So around a last supper's Table Sat an entire planet's Only Savior Getting ready freely His Life's Blood To shed As soon His fleshly shell Would temporarily be cold Unmoving Dead
So do not miss the purpose Of Christ’s death Heaven's greatest sacrifice It's purchase Meant only to serve us Bought us back From our rebellion In satan's hand We had put a weapon For our own destruction
Christ's blood stopped Evil's rampage And Heaven's gates Swung wide To God's mercy Opened forever At last for man Was there A strong, connecting tether To His perfection’s love And complete forgiveness!
What holds those words together On that page Bound forever Do they have something Unique Important to say?
Your Spirit's finger Put them there Crystal clear With the whole world You yourself wished to share
Of your love, justice Grace, mercy, forgiveness But Also your Commands Rules, Regulations For each woman, child Each man
You cannot have the one Without the other Hand in hand do they come Flowing side by side Living as true brothers
If you want God's full blessings Then fully His commands You must obey Treasure every letter Those words and Their life’s messages They have to convey!
Of life it could be said Mostly is it about Relationships So until I reach the end Of this, my earthly trip Probably for me That is the truth
Father, mother Sisters, brothers Friends, strangers You will meet or Just pass Along the way Schools, jobs, Sidewalks on Each, every day
But Of all relationships There is THE ONE THE MOST IMPORTANT Of this let me be Oh so adamant And unfortunately Of all others you have Within this lost world It can be The most discordant A broken world’s mind Will fight to destroy Your bonds most Divine
It is the one you have With Your Creator God Your Gracious, Holy Father And His Son, Jesus Christ! Of this, I can be No more exact or certain No more precise
Everything down here On this earth is temporary Of all our God's great truths None of them of this fact Would be the least contrary So take a few moments To think of your relationship With God's eternity And you too may be allowed To enter thru heaven's gates Into Christ's loving infinity!
Lord Jehovah, God Fine tune my soul To respond to you As the violin's master Its strings do command So may only your hands Tips of Your fingers Pull forth the music From my life
Each note a result Of just your skill Your knowledge Your beauty Your graciousness So a listening world's ears May receive a taste Of the glory The beauty of Your face!
U healed our diseases U raised our dead Drove out darkest demons Fed us until it became clear Of U, is there Nothing ordinary Nothing mere
U grew and grew in power Until man's authority (held in satan's grip) Of u began to fear Staked u to a cross Took ur life so dear And then, In ignorance so sheer At ur last breath Did they cheer, Did they sneer (at ur last sigh Sent themselves To hell to reside)
So let us not today Do the same Crown Christ As your only King As our voices In heaven may ring Dear Lord Jesus To glorify and praise Only U!!
