Original Creation
Created in the image
Of the only One
Not any human being
Stamped with God's likeness
His very form
Down deep into your core
That was the original purpose
For us
To walk, talk, be
Like the Holy One of Israel
But instead,
We turned toward
Our own fleshly shells
Following selfish desires
Turned against those
Lofty golden spires
Of His heaven
So now today He fights
To win us back
From our own evil, selfish ways
Of which
there seems to be no
unending lack
So in the Now of
Your Today
Turn,
Return
To following that love's song
That original romance
With your God that was intended
(He will not be offended)
And while you still have a chance
Join in His Eternal, Universal Dance!
To Mars?
Our bodies were not made
To live on Mars
Are there not problems enough
To solve on this planet
Revolving as it does amidst
The burning stars?
Curiosity and learning is one thing
But
What about curiosity for eternity, God, Christ,
the destiny that awaits in His Paradise
Drawing nearer to our Creator
This God who leaned so close
Took on our form, our flesh
To withstand our cruelty’s test
Of dying on a bloodied cross
So would not our time be better spent
If to our time and energies we lent
The pursuit, reaching for the reality
of the Universe’s space
And went instead in search
of our Lord Creator’s face?
Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands
The part of the south I live in gets so green and lush, and I can never resist a beautiful day to take pictures. We finally got some relief from the heat where I live so I rode along the greenway as I often do. Don’t know the names of all the wildflowers, but they are still blooming although for a day or two because it has been so dry with no rain, they did droop just a little. This monster of a tree is just that, a monster. It is huge. I can’t tell if it is more than one tree growing close together or if it is old and just split at its base.
The river is lower from less rain and in some spots is only a few inches deep. In the shallow parts, the water is so clear you can see every stone and fish in it. It’s lovely! May God, the Creator of all this beauty, bless your day!
Union
There is only one
Owner of this world
Accident or chance
Alone did not hurl
Our planet home into
BeingThere is a someone
Who decided it to create
Not a natural process
Of chemicals
Life’s requirements
Will ever satiateA perfect balance
Was what a universe needs
To form, to cause to be
And there is only
One Perfect Being alone
with that abilityPerfect power
Perfect sovereignty
Perfect in wisdom
Perfect in His Love
For us
Everything you see
Or touch
Belongs to Him
And Him alone
To live in conjunction
With Him was
His forever goalFor all of His creation
On His mind was never
Destruction
We were made to exist
With Him hand in hand
In perfect peace, harmonyThis is His ultimate plan
United forever, God & man,
Giving of His perfection
The Two become One
The First Calm
It happened under the skies
Of the very first dawn
Rays of light breaking
Placid horizon in yellows,
Pinks and reds
It was the first Calm
A new world, pleasant
To the eyes and soul
Broken out of deep, dark
Nothingness
By ancient words and voices told
In a Holy Book
Life exploded
Upon a spinning globe
Of dirt, air & water
Animals, man & plants
To each by a loving hand
Did the Creator grant
Relationship
With Himself,
The Ones who stirred
The darkness
Into life
Nothingness
Into something
Desired to associate
Fellowship
With our forms of dust
Only asking for a return
Of love, respect
& our trust
This was the first Calm
This perfected peace
Between all forms of life
And the Creators
Between all of Their creation
& Themselves
There was not a hint, scent
Of strife
Until man,
Supposedly the highest,
Decided to rebel
And follow the wrong voice
Made the ultimate mistake
Available, the worst choice
And everything fell
Plants, animals, earth
Spun out of the original plan
Subject to terrors
Never meant or intended
By our Creator’s gentlest
Of hands
And so we lost
All of us
Paid a dearest cost
To suffer in pain,
Showed disdain for the Ones
Who made us
And so in tears we lived
And lost
The First Calm
In The Beginning
Chronicle III
Eden’s glory on
Full review
In yellows,
Greens &
Brilliant azure blues
Unflawed life
With Perfection’s love
No displeasure felt
About which to sigh
Walking under clearest skies
Nor reason or complaint
Over which to die
Wait, what is that,
To die?
Understood not yet
Or known
No pain or regret
With which to live
Only joy & love
A thing called death
Living only in the shadows
Air is always clean
& fresh
Only peace is
Ever seen
Between earth, sky
& the sea
Man & all animals
Live only & always
In harmony to be
Food abundant
Work is no toil
No displeasure there
To ever despoil
Its sense of purpose
Or the ease
Of life lived under
Gentle trees
Swaying softly overhead
At night only rest
Is found in all their beds
Until one day
With a slight chill
An unknown shadow passes
A rustling in the grasses
Never heard before
The man stopped to sniff
The air
The woman paused
to express only a mild care
But in naivete
On that most unusual day
Neither knew from
Experience they lacked
What formidable evil
Slithered,
Invading their Paradise
Now lurking & looming
Behind their backs
