Let Go!

Let Go!

He’s after our hearts
That deepest, personal part
Waiting to instill
Himself
That raging, destructive old nature
To kill

But He needs your permission
Your total submission
For us to bend our knees
If a different, better world
We truly wish to see

So,
Let Christ have your total self
Don’t hide pieces upon a darker shelf
Bring out all that you are
Obeying that Spirit’s inner call
For evil’s thick, stone walls to crumble
As Jericho’s walls will they fall

And Our King will rush in
More precious souls to win
Before that last curtain call
As around us all creation falls
Is rendered useless,
Disappears in a roar
Christ’s face will appear
His power at last crystal clear
And for your faith
He will wipe away all our tears

In My Bones

In My Bones

In my bones
I know
I have another home
Another place
To live before a face
More beautiful
Than any other

It is man’s greatest hope
But
Comes most of the time
With an inner struggle
Seeming sometimes a great mystery
Or a somewhat confusing puzzle
Still God promises if we try
We are assured of the greatest prize
A home before His beauty
Forever

So lift up your eyes,
Your very souls
Make His will
Your life’s greatest goal
And learn to let go
Of that raging inner self
For
It is not I that lives
But Christ that lives in me!!

Rest

Rest

That physical pump
Inside my chest
Someday will stop
As my fragile shell
Receives its eternal rest

In peace I pray
I will be allowed to go
If while on earth
That is what
I tried to sow

Enter God's rest
You children of the King
Rise up in joy
On the back of
His great eagle's wings

Rise in spiritual prosperity
As you prance, dance forever
In God's joyfilled gaiety

My Shell!

My Shell!

This Physical shell
It's tight
Restricts, constrains
Squeezes
So stiff it creaks
Knocks me almost
to my knees

At times full of disease
Mild or strong
Impairing a song
Meant for us to sing
About earth's risen King
To call Jesus by name
That was always
Of Eternity, its goal, it's aim

Oh, this Physical shell
Only time will tell
When I will be released
From the intense heat
Of its determined grip
Ah, that will be a Paradise most complete!

Flowers

Flowers

Flowers flitter, float and twist
Spinning at water’s edge
Suspended in fluid life
Until a force, unidentifiable

Pushes, they’re caught in
Torrents of an energy
Out of control, blindly
Ripping at everything

Multi-hued and rushing
Entrapped in wildly straining
At times, mad,
Ceaselessly rushing waters

Of life, labor, loss, pain
Flowers follow, bobbing
Tossed and thrown
Waters almost overwhelming

Losing a few small strays
Of petals, delicate against
The flow, deluge swirling
Forcing them to dance

At last, the journey’s end
Uncertain, perhaps unsafe
The water tumbles, falls over
An abyss of rock’s sharp edge

The flowers cling, clutch
Tenacious to hold the liquid
Surface, then in FAITH
They release and reach

For a hitherto unknown
Place, in air,
It lifts, they let go
And rise to fly back home!

Phillippians 3:20-21 ESV But our citizenship is in heaven and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.

And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
