The Unknowing

The Unknowing

Unfeeling
Unseeing
Wandering
On the surface
Of an earth's spinning ball
Not knowing at all
That they are a spirit
Immortal
Capable of heeding
Their Holy Father's
Loving call

Unknowing,
They are like beasts of the field
Moving with heads bowed down
Seeing sensing only
A dirty, sin-stained ground
Unaware
That they are not just
Physical
But
Spiritual
Meant to spend eternity
On a different level

Of all things existing
In this vast, stunning universe
Only have we, us humans,
Been given a rare gift
Created in God's image
If only from the world's dirt
Our soul's eyes we would just lift
Made by You, for You
Through You
Lord God
Adoni
The Almighty,
El Shaddai!

So become knowing
Looking up
Toward heaven's
Purest skies
To hear your
Heavenly Father's
Imploring, sincere cries
Before it's too late
To turn away from
Your dulled senses
And of Him,
His Son
His Spirit
Become totally, purely
Gloriously Aware!

Life or Death

Life or Death

This world is lost
I wish it were
Another way
That such words
No one could ever say

But
Unfortunately
It's true
For us
Me and you
For in a Book
Named Jude
Words are written
'Hating even the
Clothing stained
By corrupted flesh'

Saved only by a Savior's
Purest blood
Through Heaven's gates
Now it roars
A cleansing flood
Poured out
From God's love
Encircling our heads
Shining above

So do not
Turn the back
Or you will feel
The terrifying lack
Of being allowed
To be a kinsman
Of the living Christ
For only He can
Give God's grace
His glowing life
And
Save you from
Eternal destruction
