My Existence

 Existence
  
  
 My heart beats
 My lungs breathe
 I can laugh,
 Play,
 Savor the day
 I exist
  
 My thoughts are 
 My own
 In my head 
 They have found
 A home
 Within to rest
  
 Put me to the test
 Will I or won’t I
 Do this or that
 I can hear these,
 My thoughts
  
 For you see
 This is the real
 You and me
 A living breathing
 Spirit, soul
 Only temporarily,
 For now
 Attached to this
 mortal shell
  
 Given a chance
 to grow
 Get to know
 The One who runs
 The universe
 And beyond,
 Transcendent,
 With His Son
  
 For one day He 
 Has promised 
 He will come
 This living,
 breathing Son
 Shining in all His splendor
 This wonderful Giver
 Of our Life
 This gift of
 Our Existence!

Just Pretend

 
 

 Just Pretend
  
 Close your eyes
 & just pretend
 Pretend there is 
 No death
 No Physical end
 To life as it is
  
 No purpose 
 For anything
 All is just about
 What you can see
 & touch for now
 No hope
  
 If you can believe
 This
 Then your enemy
 Has accomplished
 His goal
 to cover your eyes
 with his deceit
  
 he can even persuade
 You to believe
 Or feel that even he
 Does not exist
 There is no great evil
 In this world
  
 We are okay
 As we are
 If this had been
 The truth
 There would have
 Been no use 
 Or need
  
 For a man to die
 On a cross
 Heaven sent
 Puts a different bent
 On our ages old story
 To believe in a glory
  
 Temporarily unseen
 By human eyes
 Someday will rip
 Open the skies
 Return in full power
 Unknown may be 
 The day or hour
 But Christ’s words
 Promise it clearly
 & for sure!

With the Spirit’s holy flame

Dark, hardened hearts

The Post-modernist’s only

Claim to fame

Return to me, I’ll

Return to you

our God says

Elohim, Creator

Holding out hands

Your eternal Father

Crystal tears He sheds

As we toss & turn on beds

Deep in sweaty pain

Caused by sin, illicit gain

Greed’s ugliest names

Only ourselves to blame

Worshipping things

That we have made

With restless hands

We reach for our graves

Affirming our own verdict

A terrible day is coming

Oh, there will be a mighty burning

Heaven, earth

Gone with a thunderous roar

Souls with anguish will be torn

Knowing their last chance

Forever is no more

In life their hearts they

Hardened

Disobedient,

refused their pardon

To follow a loving Father’s

Path for life

Chose their own way

Depravity’s lusts

Into His hands

They would not trust

Their only souls

So now the bell does toll

The old world’s ways

Are forever sold

Into oblivion’s

Darkest pit

So, please listen,

As the prophet calls

Heed the warnings clearly told

In a Holy Book of old

Save yourself

and

Someone else!!

Our world exists

2 sides to the coin

One side lives in light, sun

As the other slumbers

In darkness

So it will be when

Our King returns

For that holy day

All who love him

Should deeply yearn

Some will be given the

Joy of light forever

Others in dark pain will

Be in weeping, wailing

Gnashing of teeth

As they run for cover

Where the worms

Never die

Fire is never quenched

Words from a book

That never lies

Before it is too late

As Christ flings open

Heaven’s gates

Stands and knocks

Let Him in

Replace your sin

With obedience

Join in the frolicking

As you receive

Your first glance

Of His great and

Mighty return
