Autumn’s Flames

I was blessed enough to be able to ride my bike today on our Greenway System along the river and see some of the leaves on the trees starting to change colors. Even though it was a little cloudy they were still beautiful! Wrote a quick poem about it and hope you enjoy.

Autumn Flames

Fiery flames
Never meant to be contained
Mixed among the greens
The cooler colors
Still your sisters, brothers
Meant to complement one another

Your warmer tones
Float over my head
& I do not have to enjoy
Your beauty all alone
Others, they stop
Breezes, they blow
Carrying your leaves
To skip, to hop
Over each & every stone

So take some time
After you’ve finished my
Pale rhyme
Enjoy your day
& take the time to stay
Caught in autumn’s
Fiery flames!

Love This Time of Year!

I love this time of year. You can always tell it’s spring when it is warm enough for the turtles to sunbath on the rocks. I ride my bike along our greenway system on the riverbank. The first fresh green of baby leaves on the trees is coming out good, and I got to take a photo of some of the new blooms on the wildflowers. I hope you can get outside this spring to enjoy the beauty of our God’s wonderful creation. May God bless your day and spring!!

Spring!!

Spring seems to finally be here! I love to see the beautiful flowering trees. Plus it’s amazing to see what a difference an overnight rain makes along our river greenway system. It’s normally just a trickle in some spots but a little rain brings it to almost over the large bridges and over some of the smaller ones. I caught a shot of some kids enjoying walking in the river water that had just barely covered a small bridge. I warned them to be careful. Don’t know if it did any good or not.

Love, Love This Time of Year!

I love this time of year! Everything is so fresh and green, almost a perfect lime green with all the little new leaves coming out. These were taken along our river greenway system again just this morning. The green of the plants was so intense even the reflections in the water looked green. The two Canadian geese looked like they were sitting on green glass! I hope everyone has a pleasant and blessed day. Praise God!

Knee Deep

Knee Deep

There you are
Knee deep in those waters
Where most sense danger
And then run & scatter
Yet you have wandered outward
Seemingly without a care

All around you life’s flows never cease
But do not be so foolish
As to let all your follies increase
Beware those seemingly
Placid waters for now
Do not upward rise quickly
& underneath them drag you down

God still cries, holds out arms
To bring you home
Back onto a safer ground
Wishes for you to cease to roam
No longer within his voice’s sound
Or out of his love’s caresses

Leave those roaring depths of satan’s dangers
All those lurid temptations hold nothing
but the cunning voice of a stranger
Yield to Christ’s love flowing freely
In His bright blood on a cross
Step out of those cold dark powers
That carry only the pain of sin’s deepest loss
