Water’s Crystals

Water Crystals

Crystals of light
flung everywhere
by a force of nature
not quiet so rare
yet still not within
my feeble grasp

Dancing merrily
before my face
Oh, to have such
purely joyful grace
to be able to fly
with such abandonment

I laugh as I watch your
joy-filled dance
And as I turn to leave
unable to avoid a
second glance
you fall to return
to the liquid foam
where you now may rest
within your watery home

I could not resist taking the videos of an early morning bike ride on our greenway which goes right by a river. It was cold, but the sun was out, and it was so nice how the bright sun reflected off the river. I enjoy listening to the sound of the rushing water. Have a blessed day!

Only a little snow

These snow covered trees reminded me of dancers. Have a good day!

 Distorted Dancers

 Distorted dancers
 In the air
 Seeming not to know
 Or care
 How you fling your
 Limbs out everywhere
 Upward into the greyest
 Of Airs
 Or down to earth where
 I stand & stare

 I admire your courage
 But I do not think
 Without at least one blink
 I could such graceful dexterity
 Show
I would have to surely stop
 & groan
 As I attempted about to
 Throw
 My limbs as you do

 So I will just stand
 And admire
 As your limbs reach upward
 As lofty spires
 Toward Heaven’s most
 exalted spaces
 And our mutual Father’s
 Loving graces.

As I was walking the greenway this morning, it was cold and snowing, but I caught some mallard ducks enjoying the icy water. I love the sound of the water falling over the rocks so I just thought I would try my hand at a short video. Please excuse the slight hand wobbles. Have a great day!

Not Bad for an Older Lady!

I got to ride my bike again today on a longer ride, almost ten miles. It’s my new hobby, and I love it! I am a 2X cancer survivor, and I’m grateful God lets me enjoy the bike riding. Each day feels like a gift to still be able to enjoy life with my family & friends. May God bless your day. Praise Him for his grace and mercy!!

Also I could not resist this photo of some beautiful, massive old sycamore trees at the water’s edge. In winter without the leaves, you can see their white bark even better. Have a good day!

Finally a Sunny Day!

We finally, finally had a sunny day after grey skies for a week. It was nice to get out on our greenway system which runs along the river to ride my bike and take a few photos. I love the way the intense morning sun made the water sparkle like liquid diamonds. In the winter with no leaves on the trees, you get to really seen the twisted, gnarled shapes of the trees so much better. The large, old sycamores are the most beautiful I think with the white skins of their bark. I hope everyone has a blessed day!

Last Blooms of Summer

I could not resist. Our greenway system goes by a large river. The wildflowers this year have been beautiful. I took a few photos because I’m sure they won’t last much longer. I noticed the first few red berries on one of the bushes which don’t usually come out until this time of year, late summer or early fall.

I love the old sycamore trees with their white bark. You can really see them good in winter when they lose their leaves. Even though the sky was overcast, the river always has good displays of reflections whether it’s plants or the colors of the sky. I hope you have very blessed day!

Morning’s Mercies

Morning’s Mercies

Fresh, morning’s mercies

Recreated new world

Still trembling in moistures

Of crystal dew-drops

These shining pearls

Festoon green-leafed spots

Of glory

Ancient trees, boulders

At edge of water’s shoulders

Could tell many a story

If we take the time to listen

Upon the banks of an earthy liquor

sparkling in bright glistens

Of past times caught, moving

within its wettest web

It’s moving cascades end

Where the calm lake’s surface begins

Kissed by angel’s lips

Granting serenity, peace

To all willing beneath

Its surface their mind to dip

To contemplate and connect

With our Creator’s grace-full face
