Martyr

White lipped martyr
Entrenched,
Led, fed by fire of
the Spirit
Chains, dark breath of
Ignorance,
At your hands and feet

Satan howls, enslaving
The weak, deluded,
Hot grasp of hell
Around their throats
Calling for your demise,
He dances
Within his dark delight

Until a light breaks
Between grey clouds
Rumblings begin to
Shake the earth
Beneath unseeing feet
Still the cries rise
To champion your death

You raise your eyes
Skin as ashen as the clouds
A warm wind catches, lifts
Damp curls off a cheek
This breeze whispers,
Carries a voice, your name,
Speaks of heaven’s promises

A flame is struck
Wood ignites, flames
Move upward
Voracious tongues of
Pain, heat
Yet, unseen below,
Glory reaches down

Hope releases, disappears
Into a new reality
Within the hot smoke
Of hate
Bliss is born and
Rises
On fresh, living wings of ecstasy!

No matter what you face on this earth, God will go through it with you. We just have to trust, have faith that He is there. This is not our permanent home. We are only temporarily here. In 1st Peter, Peter says we are to live as foreigners here. God loves you and wants you in enjoy His presence in Paradise forever. Praise God!!

Well Watered Garden — Pure Glory

by Hazel Straub God’s remedy for a full life, in empty desolate places is simple. It is time for restoration of shattered lives. Live in his presence letting his water gush from you! “If you get rid of unfair practices, quit blaming victims, quit gossiping about other people’s sins, If you are generous with the […]

The Challenger — Run With It

Grumbling and Disputing Philippians 2:14 ESV “Do all things without grumbling or disputing…” There is a massive “dispute” going on right now within the church over the gospel of our salvation. For there is a challenger which and who is standing in opposition to the Lord’s true gospel of grace. Primarily or foundationally the challenger […]

Essence

Essence

Essence of blood
Released from
A throne above
Soft, silky to
The touch
But each drop contains
A liquid fire

Burning, consuming, expanding
Enters the human
Heart
Rising, flaming up to
Leap to life upon its altar,
A burning release of passion

Ardor sent from heaven
To awaken the within
Of our souls
To purpose, new life,
overflowing joy dancing
among the flames

Multiplying, intensifying
Man’s weak embers
Into an ever rising
Song-lit flame
To ascend the skies
and join their Savior’s
Red flowing passion

drop by drop
it descended,
those red liquid flames
dripping, covering a darkened earth
hearts revive,
encapsulated by
this merciful King’s gift
within the fire of an
awakened life

Had a beautiful sunrise this morning. Pictures above are of that. Praise God!!

Writing about Writing

KODAK Digital Still Camera

Writing is always a struggle for me and I guess for everyone to some extent. I started writing back in my mid-40’s during a very dark time in my life. It seemed to enhance my life in general. I was working to help support the family then started having health problems so I never attempted to get anything published.

Buy boy, some twenty years later, has the publishing world seemed to change. I had to retire because of cancer so I picked the writing back up recently. Now there are several large publishing companies that have seemed to swallow up all the smaller ones that used to be around, and you cannot get your foot in the door without an agent. It used to be there were more smaller companies that would look at your work without an agent.

Today agents seem to only want people who are already known, successful writers or a big celebrity of some type(entertainer, athlete or speaker). Plus, the real art form that it used to be for people like William Faulkner, Virginia Wolf or Scott Fitzgerald seems to have dwindled down. Money seems to be the motivation behind all of it. I realize it is a business, and businesses have to make money to stay in business, but it seems different. There are still some people out there trying to stay creative and artistic with it. Today self and indie publishing are around for us who are small unknowns in the writing world.

Oh, well that’s my complaining for today. I still love to write, and this blog has been fun. May God bless your day and week!!

Who we really are in Christ – Our Identity: In Christ, Part 2 — Let’s Talk About Sunday

Think about how you see yourself. Is it the same as who you are? Is it possible that your self-identity is different from who you really are? I think it is very possible. Consider people that think they are losers, failures, or many other negative words. Perhaps other people told them that. Perhaps they did […]
