Oh, Please!

Oh, Please!

You say,
Oh please not this again
On that subject please do not begin
But I say yes
I feel compelled to do my best
To convince you

People do not want to hear today
Especially in the US of A
About another level of existence
To this among the world
Is a strong, strong level of resistance

Wanting to believe merely on the physical
Minds throw up all kinds of an obstacle
To believing in a supernatural
Of angels, demons, good, evil
Or heavens forbid, a God!

For them I feel most sorry
They miss out on Christ’s love
His kindness, mercy, joy-filled glory
On the face of this planet
Will there never be a more beautiful story!

Caught up in money’s lust
In themselves alone have they to trust
& only physical pleasures,
The most fleeting of all treasures,
Ignoring an inner voice
Reminding that denying death
For no one is a choice

So while they wish to wallow
Only in this physicality’s mud
I hope you will choose to follow
The Holy One from Above
& the forgiveness
Of His Beauty’s Overwhelming Love!!

To Mars?

To Mars?

Our bodies were not made
To live on Mars
Are there not problems enough
To solve on this planet
Revolving as it does amidst
The burning stars?

Curiosity and learning is one thing
But
What about curiosity for eternity, God, Christ,
the destiny that awaits in His Paradise

Drawing nearer to our Creator
This God who leaned so close
Took on our form, our flesh
To withstand our cruelty’s test
Of dying on a bloodied cross

So would not our time be better spent
If to our time and energies we lent
The pursuit, reaching for the reality
of the Universe’s space
And went instead in search
of our Lord Creator’s face?

Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands

Fine Tune

Fine tune me like a fiddle
Carve me, shape me
In your hands may you whittle
Until I sing, resonate
And to your tunes vibrate

Play me all day long
Projecting, singing
Only your songs
Of Your Joy, Love,
Glory, Stupendousness
And may I only in your hands,
Lord God,
Sound out the songs
Upon which others may dance!

The Next Time

The Next Time

People very often say
As sickness or death
Looms closer in our path
Intrudes into our life’s way
“It’s better than the
      alternative.”

      Meaning I suppose
As on their way they persist & go
in whatever horrific condition
             to be alive
Is better than life’s alternative,
                 Death
I shake my head, my tongue I bite
       Do they not know?

      Our God in the flesh,
Spiked to man’s cruel piece of wood
Dying in His own blood so red
This one we call Savior, Christ
Turned to another & said,
Today with me will you be
        in My Paradise!

Why do we not trust in His words
What awaits for all who believe
& stay loyal to this beautiful Christ
       Is so glorious a Paradise
Free of all pain or strife
New body, new way to exist
Totally, completely a better New Life!

            A man,
Once a fisherman by trade
Until that most compelling day
He heard Jesus of Nazareth say,
       “Come, follow me”
In a letter this apostle wrote,
Live as foreigners & exiles
On this, a world so fallen

So the next time I hear
Someone say those words
I will have to be honest, I fear,
And be compelled to say
No, I live & wait for a better way
To Share in His Most Perfect
& Newest of All My Days!

1 Peter 1:17 Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear.

1 Peter 2:11 Dear Friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul.

If I Were You

If I Were You

When you mess with me
You mess with Him
Because I belong to Him
I am
His precious child
His beloved
Bride
Pure & holy
At least in His eyes
So,
If I were you
I would leave me alone!

He will leave no stone
Unturned
To save me, redeem me
Protect me
Even though you think
Destroyed I may be
But
Believe me
I am not!

At this place, this spot
Where you think I am gone
In heaven’s purest portals
I rejoice again, again & again
With the loudest of songs
With His powerful angels I dance
In pure joy
For just to take one quickest glance
At God’s face

So again, if I were you
I would leave me alone!
