The Crowd
Crowds followed him around
From every village
Each and all the towns
As He healed every disease
They'd fall to their knees
Before His face
His special touch
Hoping to receive
Not caring so much
For the blessor
As they wanted the blessing
Later hung Him on a cross
For upon their hearts
All His Words were they
Completely lost
Today don’t we do the same?
Playing little religious games
Do we really passionately
Love our Christ
His Spirit's truth, love, His light
Reveling in His power's creative might
But
Loving Jesus involves obedience
To His commands
Courage to go against
A lost, perverse world's demands
Upon His words we have to,
Must take a stubborn stand
Even when it hurts!!
So prepare yourself
To follow a different crowd
Making a different sound
Lifting up the name of their God
Who upon this darkened dirt
For a few short years actually did trod
Suffered for us thru much pain,
Injustice’s adversity
Today He still holds out
His hands yearningly
For you to follow the artistry
Of His life's commands
Taking your holy stand
Against
Those shifting sands
Of a crowded but very lost
Generation. . .
Matthew 10: 33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. (King James Version)
