Stripped Meaning to Be destroyed Removed As in to strip old paint Now old undesirable varnish Remove old tarnish
As I stand still Look around Unwillingly caught In all the world's sounds My spirit feels there is Something amiss Something Imprisoned into A darkened twist It is our sense of reality
There is a loss of authority Not of ours, oh no, no In our own we boast all day Over that we keep a tight grip Over that most will sing All day long Through loose, smiling lips It is of someone else's loss
Into the air madly have We tossed Christ's authority Our Creator's Sovereignty Over everyone, everything From Him His power Have we STRIPPED
Today even inside Large and small churches Pastors just say Jesus loves you Which, of course, is the truth But downplay HIS KINGSHIP Is it ignorance or fear Is it now today They're afraid to say He is also our Righteous Judge Full Authority, Power Only belongs to Him All of life's rules, guidelines Come from Him
In the middle of today's Broken world with pain so rife In its confusion, satan's evil, full of strife We need to return to the truth Of our One true leader's power And to bend the knee And refuse to strip Christ Of His rightful authority HIS OVERWHELMING MAJESTY AND UNENDING GLORY!
