Our Job

Our Job

If we people who say
We believe Jesus Christ
is Lord, Savior & God
We truly, truly believe
He is truth, life & the way
Then isn’t it our daily job
To say so

Out loud
Not just in a church building
Where we feel safe
But out in a dangerous world
Where we could face
Ridicule, embarrassment 
Maybe even death

Or perhaps alone to be left
With no one, rejected, 
Unloved, a most severe test
Of our loyalty
But this is what He said
To do
If each soul down here is
To have a chance to be
Renewed

We are to be His hands, feet
Face & voice
His Messengers
This can be a most difficult
Choice
For anyone, a sacrifice to make
This suffering we must take
If we truly, truly love Him

For without a sacrifice, there is no love!
So do not tell Jesus you love Him if
You are unwilling to sacrifice to stay loyal to Him

If you deny me before men, I will deny you before the Father! Matthew 10:33

Even the Demons

Even the Demons

People do go to church
Walk thru a door
Choose a seat
Stay awhile
Turn & smile
Say they believe

But rituals alone
Do not change a heart
May or may not help
You grow
Closer, more intimate,
Obedient
To your Creator

So only saying you believe
Will not save your soul
Just to believe is only
The first part of the goal
Because even

Demons believe & tremble
They just chose the wrong side
Do not follow their guide

God is after the Human Heart
So He may start 
To transform you
Into His Son, 
A co-heir with Him
So you may win,
Transcend
The darkness
Enter His light,
A forever Paradise!!

What IS Courage?

What IS Courage

On a hill He created
With His hands
On a feckless day
& by the very clay
He had formed
Stripped bare,
He was crucified
That WAS courage

Left a golden throne
Of glory
To continue His story
Of calling us back home
Nevermore in
Satan’s darkness
To roam
That TOOK courage

On that crucial night
In history
For us, our destiny,
Was changed forever
Followers all 
They left their call
Abandoned him
To that hill
Standing still
Alone
That was NOT courage

But the story was
Changed
As He arose out of
An empty grave
They rejoiced on that day
To follow His name
Most of the 12 were martyred
Terrible painful deaths
Suffered so obedience
They could claim
That IS courage!

Today there is no difference
So in holy reverence
For one so holy & pure
Who came only to reassure
Of God’s love, mercy
Forgiveness
Let us stand up
His name bless
Even if we have to suffer
Perhaps even death
That WILL BE our Courage!!

A Puzzle

A Puzzle
(I do not understand)

It is a puzzle
I confess I do not understand
Why such a great &
Beautiful land
Would leave its heritage
Behind

As in Jeremiah
Before God destroyed
His people
‘Has a nation ever changed
Its gods?
(Yet they are not gods at all)
But my people have exchanged
Their Glorious God
For worthless idols’ Jeremiah 2:11
of expensive cars
large houses
endless hours of
pleasure seeking

and worst of all
money
When the decrees of
The Lord
Are sweeter than honey?
By them we will 
Be judged
Bear me no grudge
For these my words
But they are true

So I pray for a turning
Away 
From all these
Worthless idols
Of only clay
To the One True Lord
In whom is stored
Kept, prepared
For His true believers
Above endlessly blue skies
His unending Paradise!!
