The Screen

 The Screen

 The screen
 That presence
 So widely seen
 In our homes
 Offices,
 Carried in
 Our hands
 Worldwide
 In every land

 Mobile
 Or desktop
 Laptop
 Servers galore
 In their memories
 They can store
 Anything

 And they do
 Spit out
 Whatever gets
 Put into them
 By us
 Coming thru
 Our hands
 The minds &
 Hearts of man

 That screen
 That influence
 I have seen
 Thick or lean
 Large or small
 Speaks & calls
 To us all
  Thru the light
 Of that flickering
 Screen

 Images of good
 Images of bad
 Calling our names
 Playing their games
 With everyone

 Angels & demons
 Portrayed in fantastical
 Images
 It’s really so sad
 Because both do exist
 In the midst
 Of the lives of man

 So be careful what
 You allow
 To be fed into
 Your mind
 Look for truth
 Elsewhere
 & learn
 to wisely turn
 from that
 Invasive Screen!

More Animals

Had one day of good sunshine and went back out on our greenway system. There is a great horned owl nesting on two babies in a treetop. I have never seen a wild one that up close before. I also got to see some large blue herons nesting in their treetop nests. I did not know they nested in trees!

It has rained so much recently that the water in the river was up and running stronger than normal making lots of pretty unusual waterfalls and waves. A mammoth tree got carried down river and stuck in one of the bridges. Don’t know how they’re going to get that out! Flowers and green grass are coming out and looking beautiful. Have a very blessed day and stay safe. Praise God!!!

Stuff!

Materialism has its up and downs. It’s not always as great as it’s cracked up to be. It can be corrupting for more than one thing(earth, human body and soul).

Stuff
Plastic, metal, glass
Concrete poured
On a valuable earth
Struggling to survive.

Fast cars, faster planes,
Light-speed computers,
Stuff
Up to our necks.

Or maybe
Up to our hearts,
Lusting, lusting

We’re told we need
NEED
Stuff, stuff, stuff
To survive.

Garbage piles heaped,
All our stuff
Discarded, thrown away,
Destroyed forever
So we can have
More Stuff.

Physical we are for
Now
But more spirit
For the later

Stuff, stuff, stuff
Helps not with
The later of a
Different place

Another world which
Does not care
Endlessly about all our
Stuff.
