I don’t know(demons)

Don’t Know (demons)

I don’t know
Why you would give me
such experiences
Surely you could have found
Someone of more uniqueness

An orphan from birth
One of the least of the least
Assuredly you could have
Chosen someone less
Beaten to their knees

Demons are real
Come only your safety to steal
Roaming from another realm
Come to destroy any peace

The first was only a black blob
I suppose from all the darkness
Through the eons he had trod
Speaking Jesus’ name
Was the only way
To end the purpose
for which he came
To bring me only pain

The second attempted to
Look like our God
On a throne he sat
Extended a hand
On this one I slipped,
Trusted
He touched my lips
Next morning, I was sick

The third, well
Looking like a child
Fearful when it smiled
Trying to beguile
Teeth, pointed, razor sharp
After one look
Asked about my written book
In appearance only stark
Shade of black and grey
Only with Jesus’s name
Did it disappear
No longer to terrify
In my ear

Perhaps the most fearful
In appearance of all
A grown man, strong and tall
No color to brighten his blackened visage
I said ‘In the name of
Jesus of Nazareth, begone
Arguing replied, ‘Doesn’t work like that’
Screaming I answered
Oh yes it does,
Repeated Jesus’ name
As before all the others
He left
Running from the light
Of our universe’s Master
To hide from His glory,
His power’s might
Our Prince of Peace
Lover of our souls!
Eternity’s Most Beautiful &
Wonderous Sight!

Come

Come

Come, Lord Jesus, Come
Lord, King
My Master
To us, please, please return
Rend the sky
Waiting, I watch
Look up & sigh

But first,
Come perhaps
More softly
In Your great love
Rend, tear our hearts
Of this world
Surely, You’ve had
More than enough

Help us, lead us
Show us only for life
Your way
On the face of this planet
Tired am I of an ever present
Internet
Its siren song, misleading fantasies
Enchantment

Save us as only You can
Before you choose to return
To create Your promised land
New Earth, New Heaven
Make us Your hands, feet
Put in our hearts Your Love
So evil’s destructive voices
May You at last
Totally, completely defeat!

Gut Me

Gut Me

Gut me
Tear me
Shred me
Shatter me

Open me up
Clean me out
Leave nothing of the old
So my same old story
No longer is allowed
To be told

Purge my inner abscess
Of all the rotten pus
Even though its stench
I may most firmly clutch

Give me, Lord Jesus,
Your purity
Your holiness transform
me
All of this above
I seek with unabashed
sincerity

One Cross

One Cross

That cross upon a hill
Reminds us in lonely words
Still
Of a dying sacrifice

Every day while here
He walked, talked, cried
Then spread out his arms
On a piece of hard tree
To die
For us to justify

Only that one cross,
Although there were
Many others,
Turned us into closer
Sisters, brothers

So, listen to the words
It still whispers
Wreathed in a blood so red
Allow its words within
To ring out,
Out loud to be said

Found spoken on that tree
Some of the most important words
Ever intended for
Everyone’s life
They will surely suffice
Of,
A loving Christ’s purest
& most noble sacrifice!

Dissipation (melting away)

Dissipation
(melting away)

My shell will dissipate
Allowed no longer
To participate
At this level

The real of me
At last,
will be allowed to see
My Lord,
God, finally
Will I with you be

To be lifted up
On wings of bliss
O’ my soul
Of this I care not to,
Dare not to miss

Living in your light
Clarity, love & might
To know fully
As I am fully known
All will be exposed
At last, your truth shown
By You, God,
To be eternally owned
All this, from before my eyes
Will no longer be withheld!!

Pentecostal Fire

Pentecostal Fire

Disciples, huddled
In an upper room
Shaking in their boots
Trying to dispel the gloom
Of your death
Feeling only fear’s failure was left

Until,
A Pentecostal fire
Blazed across their heads
By tongues of living fire
Were they to be led

To stop the shaking, quaking
& rise up
Boldly speak
Those first words of hope
To preach
And loudly proclaim
In many tongues
The life, the power
Of God’s only RISEN SON!
