Even Though
Even though
As the spirit leaves
The body
Becomes an empty
Carcass
Even though as evil screeches
Its joy
Thinking it has won
Frenzied in a dance
Most heartless
From a place of new honor
As you glance only briefly
Back as the demons rejoice
Christ comes most sweetly
Takes your hand
To show His Promised Land
So the ignorance
of the darkness
Will never know
true victory
For them it remains
a mystery
So through your obedience
In your life’s history
In Christ you
will be allowed
With Him
to live most blissfully!
Seas
Seas, they come
& they go
Over my head
& around my arms
I feel
As my heart begins
To reel
Liquid,
A living Spirit also
Encircling
Surrounding
Every movement,
Every thought
In its power,
This Spirit’s sea
Do I feel caught
Within this moving
Sovereignty
Your joy, Your glee
Entranced
As I watch, see
Causes my heart to sing
Your Name
Yahweh!
Always, ever
Mysterious
Yet alive
Is most impervious
To the loud demands
Of a world most resistant
Around its darkness
Also swirls
But,
Your tides You send
Always coming only to cleanse!
Too Archaic?
Evil
An old, archaic word
You say
But just listen
If you will but stay
Is not man also ancient
On the face of
This revolving planet?
Also, since antiquity
Yet basically
Man is as the same
Since all the history of
Our yesterdays
Thru & up to
All the current of
Our present’s todays!
So,
Do not overrule that
Ancient word
Evil
Spun from the workings of
A devil
satan seeks only to destroy
Every man, woman
Girl & even the youngest of
All the boys
Work against it
Within yourself
Try to overcome it
Seek God’s light,
His Spirit’s pure power
To win for each of us
Of life these hours
That can come at us
In such a resounding,
Cascading crush!
Two Sides to Each Coin
Two sides to our God
Both beautiful to see
One and then the other
Each
Yet completely necessary
Flip Him over
Both sides blindingly brilliant
& equally significant
Neither to neglect
In this way, we peruse
His totality to inspect
Yet today,
Many teachers
Supposedly of The Way
Prefer over the other
Only one
Disregarding His Being
His Total Sum
Teaching,
Wanting the blessings
But leaving out obedience
Ignoring in His book
All written evidence
His is Master
& Our Judge
So,
Polish up both sides of
That coin
Bring both sides to a
Sparkle
And accept both sides
Of His intensely loving
Gospel
I Love
I love Jesus of Nazareth
Why you ask
Because,
Orphaned as I was,
Alone only He
Performed the task
Chose to love me
When no other’s love
Could I feel or see
So out loud I try to say
His Name
In the chaos of each, my days,
In the midst
Of all the scoffers
I only wished
I had said His Name
Even more often
Such a joy does it carry
I hope never to grow weary
The saying of this Beauty,
His Name,
JESUS
Just to hear the sound
So by that speaking
May His grace
More & more abound
To each & all my sisters
& my brothers!
To Enlarge
Enlarge my ears
So I may hear
Your message
So much more clear
But not just for me
But so that others
May also see
Your Glory!
Enlarge also their ears
So You may stretch
Their ‘hearts’
For all our spirits need
A fresh, new start
Please save us
Since you love us
This most earnestly
I pray
Each, Every Day
For You, Dear Christ,
In your power, might
To stop all this vicious decay
Around us!!!
