Clinging
Clinging to Christ
Tighter,
tighter
As my burdens
Get lighter,
Lighter
Always moving on,
Hoping,
To a greater beyond

Clinging
Clinging to Christ
Tighter,
tighter
As my burdens
Get lighter,
Lighter
Always moving on,
Hoping,
To a greater beyond

Reflections
Ancient trees
Stand
Soaking their toes
At the water’s edge
Below
Or knee-deep
Within its depths
which seep
through bark’s
roughened skin
Mirror images
Of plants and earth
Above
Reflections traced
onto a watery world
fitting as a hand
into a glove
Solid browns and green
earthy fingers
Projecting over head
& into the silken surface below
Which ripples and flows
echoing azure skies
And sunlight’s golden glows
God,
If you were to lean
close down enough
As I hold my camera
Tightly within my grip
In liquid’s reflections
Might I be able to trace
The beauty within
The curve of your lip
Upon your face?

Wearer of Many Hats
(God)
To you,
O Wearer of Many Hats
I am content
Where I am at.
Casual winds stir
At my back,
Sailing my soul’s ship
Home at last.

Shades of Whispers
Shades of whispers
In my ears
Under desperate suns
Incite many to fear
Spoken by an enemy
So wise
Deceitful, clever
Bent on telling only lies
Spoken in a serious voice
Misleading always
Inclined to make you
Think you have No Choice
But you do.
A bloodied cross made
Sure of that.
God’s Infinity of Love
That forever lasts.

Chaos
They run, they stride
One spot to the other
Trying each to hide
The fear, pain
From their brothers
And sisters, whisper
As they go
What next, how
Do I know
What comes tomorrow?
How should I act
Is this the right way
I need some help
From this world’s
Chaos
Which seems to hold sway
Over everything.
My death I face
Every single hour
Will someone not tell
Me
Or does anyone
Have the power
To understand which
Way to turn
Where is the help from
This Firestorm,
Pain, struggle, strife
We call life.
Without guidelines
I will fail
Will someone not
Speak
Say a few words to tell
Me how to go?
Until softly and
Suddenly
One hand reaches
Out
In a small voice
Without a shout
Hands me a book
Won’t you give
a Look
Within its pages
One may find
Wisdom
for all the ages
It speaks of a
God
His joy, &
Power
Trying to love us
Through each and
Every hour
Jesus breathed, talked
Walked out
Guidelines in
His love
Sent from
Higher Celestial regions
Above
Never without
Him
Never will force
It
We were not
Created in just
A whim
Formed us in
Joy, did He
For man’s good
He forever gives
His teachings,
Showing us the way
To live
His yearning is for
You
To live within
His guidelines
Boundaries
Perfect until
The end of all time
For without
His boundaries
for our actions
Nothing is left
But the painful
Chaos
