Like A Sore Thumb

Let me say to begin
Never were we meant
To fit in
Our most gracious leader
Was despised
Then & now by a world that denies
His existence!

In pain He tried to lead
And with loving words
Our souls will feed
But on us Heaven will make
Some demands
If you love me, you will obey
My commands
He tells us

Christ’s church, family, 
Is meant to be
And is to be seen
As different from the world so lost
We are to follow His example
For our lives no matter what it costs

So we are to walk, talk, 
Eat, sleep, even smell
Different from a world
Which only can tell
Of satan’s acidic corruption
That insidious, deceitful destruction
Of the human soul
Christ came to release us 
From all that demonic control!

So, live in it, but be not of it
We are to stick out as a sore thumb
So a generation thru you may come
To know the living Christ
To be the light, the salt
To receive His true call!

Shake off satan’s chains of darkness
Struggle, forge ahead, do your best
Reach for Christ
And thru His total bodily sacrifice
On a bloody Roman cross
Count all worldly gain a loss
And receive His Paradise!!

A world in chaos
Lacking a clear direction
Things, ideas, get tossed aside
Each day, let go
Doesn’t this show
A world in confusion
Upside down?

Where Up is Down
& Down is Up
Restless words 
Tossed about on 
Distressed waves 
Of anxious noise
Peace on some days
Seems almost unheard

But someone stands
Knocking
On everyone’s heart
Longing to be allowed to impart
His Peace-filled Spirit 

Bring about a new day
Create within us a new way
To live
Trying Himself to give
To His world a new direction
Turn it Right Side Up
Where Up is truly Up
& Down is truly Down

So do not be afraid
To go against the grain
Of a lost, bewildered world
And for yourself & others gain
A better sense of how to live
Where confusion does not reign
Under this, His One Holy Name,
Christ Jesus!

Demon’s Fright
(Your Light)

With four demons around
My throat
You came in and satan’s
Hold You broke,
Lord Jesus

At Your name the darkness
Scattered
With Your Name they fled
You solved the matter,
Lord God

They ran, disappeared in
In terror
Knowing their end is near
Lost their power,
Praise You, Lord Jesus

So no longer do we need
To fear
satans’s evil power
with You so near,
King Jesus

So, thru my faith & loyalty
To you
Once again, your love
You will prove
When You, Most Gracious King,
With Your voice You will ring
In a new heaven, completely new earth
Leaving all of us reborn
An eternal, bodily new birth!
Praise You, Lord Yahweh!!!

On this green earth

Those steps to heaven,
My eternal soul could win!

What an enemy purposed 
For evil
You turned into a blessing
But it did not come without
A great testing

Your Son fought ahead of me
Clearing a path so I could see
The gate of heaven of me just ahead
Just as the words spoken in your Book
Most clearly & succinctly had said!

Praise You Lord, God, King Jesus & Holy Spirit!!
