Onto The Streets

Onto The Street

He went out
onto the streets
For it was always His
Original Intention
The lost to save and to seek

Sure, in temple courts
He did indeed also teach
But let it be known
That Christ also
Walked the streets
Where the lost, the blind,
The lame
Were never beyond his reach

So take Him out there
For church walls cannot
Will not
Were never meant to contain,
Our King of Glory
It's always the same story
Remember,
Man-made walls were
Never made His words
To imprison
Death could not stop
His Strength, Love or Grace
For Jesus is alive
His has eternally arisen!!!

Idols!

Hope you enjoy the video and poem. It’s listed on my youtube channel as https://youtu.be/LhX-qCuroe8

Idols

Idols, Idols
Everywhere
I look,
I stare
Turning my head
I can see
Enticing, me
To Believe
In their goodness
What a mess!

You have yours
I have mine
They’re hard to let go
Hard to unwind
Most of the flesh
To understand
Not such a great test
Power, Money
Material Possessions
Sex
At time, they can lead
To extremes of regret

In love with ourselves
We run, we fume, we struggle
At times, in singles
Or often in doubles
We collect, we hoard
Then grasp
We should feel insecure
Nothing down here really
Lasts

Reach for the eternal,
A Holy Immortal God
Please, oh please
In Him learn to trust
He desires to love us!
His blessings
They can be known
So, don’t stand out in the
Dark, all alone
Reach for wisdom
And take yourself off
The idol’s throne!!

He Gave Up!

He Gave Up!

Christ did not come

To create a feel good social club

A country club atmosphere

Instead

So our black, sin-smeared

Record for all eternity

He could unequivocally clear

A glorious throne of infinity

He gave up

He came to a barn

A humble stable

Full of hay and animal slobber

Dirty, wet

So no mistaken ideas

Of wealth, lust for money

Would we mistakenly harbor

For this a light filled throne

He gave up

He came to a cross full of

Pain, agonizing torture

So with His death

A broken relationship

Between man and the Father

He could nurture

To give us, you, a Holy,

Forgiven future

For this, through ripped

And torn flesh,

His own blood

Christ gave up!

But, it is Personal

But it is Personal!

Up close
Eyeball to eyeball
Face to face
Chest to chest
Breath to breath
Until the second
Of your physical death
How close your God is

From the moment
Of our conception
Until at the foot
Of His throne
Our final destination
God wants and is
Close
So very , very close
Do not harden your
Heart
Like a rebellious
Lost world
Spiritually almost
Comatose

God wants to be
Intimate with you
Every beat of your
Heart is personal
To Him
Desiring for
All eternity
Your soul
To win
So let Him in

Let God the Father
Christ the Son
God the Holy Spirit
Be Personal with you
Your heart
Your very soul
Recreate
Refresh and
Renew!!

One Small Act

One Small Act

You watch
As you walk
Your breath
You catch
As
Jesus turns
He smiles
Inviting you
To join
His group

Take a seat
Hold just
One small hand
Then another
Or only one more
With this
You may be allowed
A completely different land
to influence
With Jesus
You never know
What might be in store

By holding onto others
Newer sisters, brothers
In this small act
You may be allowed
To release,
And
To let go of
Yourself!

Flames!

Flames

Snatch me from the fire
God Jesus
Snatch me from the fire
Lifting higher,
Higher
Threatening to drown
My life
I scream
I cry
Even I writhe
Flames of
Pain, chaos
Broken world

Until
One gentle touch
One saving hand
Upon my shoulder
Falls
Lightly my name
I hear You call
Drawing me away
So,
Within your arms
May I stay
Given strength
Out of the fire to crawl
No longer my frail self
Dare they attempt to maul

Do not be afraid of those
Flames of pain
Follow Christ's gentle
Touch
Even though to endure
Flames can be
Extremely rough
But
You will be allowed
With only one soft word
One glance
To enter the eternity
The safety
Of Christ's embrace
And the joy of His
Paradise's dance!
