This Day!

This Day

This day is
The culmination
Of all of man's history
A day so blistering
It stands out as no other

The day when our
One & Only God
Died for us
Took our place
On that cruel cross

His perfection
His perfectly pure blood
Covered our impurity
Marking that day
Most assuredly
The most important day
(For us)
Since our creation
The one that provided satiation
For all our sin's dark deviations

Solace

Solace

A world in chaos
Precious souls torn
To pieces
satin's influence without
Restraint
Where is safety?
Only in One Name

Comfort, comfort
My people
You have said before
Today we could not need
You any more
Come, Lord God,
Come

This Easter weekend
We celebrate your death,
Burial & glorious resurrection
To save me from
My imperfections
And our great fall,
Our horrible defection
Away from Your Grace

So thank you
Lord God
For the precious blood
That was shed
Running brightly red
On that one & only day
That brought to us
Through a cruel cross
Your Solace!

What’s Happening?

What’s Happened?

What's happened to that fire?
That roaring, scorching roar
A fire so strong
Those rising flames
Redemption at its core

Sadly,
Today it sounds a whimper
That fire now burns much dimmer
Than in days of long ago
Did it seem then any simpler?

No!
then as is now
Christ never tried to
Simply please the crowds
Instead of praise
He only earned
A darkened funeral shroud

On a fateful Pentecost
A Spirit's fire was loosed
Bright, burning above their heads
Seen as to more clearly teach
Their God's eternal truths

So let's catch hold
Revive, rejuvenate those flames
Boldly denounce all worldly shames
So we may free ourselves & others
From satan's violent chains

UP!

UP

Up
Between earth
And sky
A Savior died

Not easily
But in agony
Sweat, blood
That bright red fluid
The only power
To unleash the flood
Of God's forgiveness

So the next time
You feel alone, lost
Just look up
To the man
On the cross

By faith will
You be lifted up
To live in Him
Between His golden
Gates you'll walk
And His eternal love
Forever win!

My Value!!

My Value!

My value does not
come from you
But the One who
Came to recreate
Me anew
To Christ
Is all of my loyalty due

So
Forgive me, dear friends
If I've learned to refuse
To listen to what
You tell me to do
My trust for my value
Belongs in that One
The Only One,
Who died For me

It's in His eyes
That I sink or swim
In whom all my worth,
This world’s reality
Begins & ends!!

Into The Out

Into the Out

Why do we try
To hold within
What was meant
to be so out

Buildings were never
Meant to contain
Words powerful
Enough to sustain
An entire planet

Do we really believe
A church's walls
Are the only place
A person's soul
Can feel the call
Of Christ

It can happen
on the streets
It can happen
Where we eat
Sometimes,
Even as we sleep

So, God's church
Get out do That work
Heaven's great loss
Brought about on a cross
For us also to sacrifice
Others to save
Bring to them a better way
For our whole planet
See a completely new day!!
