Naturalism

Naturalism

Naturalism they call it

Morality relative only to

what I think

but Wait –

that changes

each time I blink

A world so cold

Post modernism has told

Us, We, Man, no longer

Have a Soul!

All that exists

Is only what you can see

or touch

All to me is only physicality

So should I run the risk

Of losing all meaning

To all life I see which surrounds

Are We truly simply dust

Made up only of elements

Found within the ground?

There is no right or wrong

Found within nihilism’s siren song

Only a birth & a death

For each of us

Then we will no longer swim

In this life’s stream

We simply cease to be.

How depressing!

I am glad I do not believe

What I am told

By your world

I believe a holiness, a soul

Dwells within

As most ancient civilizations

Believed

We are seeds

Of a Holy God much greater!

Falling Leaves & Fuzzy Grass

Through falling leaves

& fuzzy grass

I hear fall’s whispers

As I pass

On glass waters

I watch you float

In orange, sun-yellows, gold

You gloat

Undisturbed by my remote

Passing by

I hold this day

Within my heart

Knowing from fall’s colors

I shall have to never part

So, if I am allowed to walk

Longer upon this earth

At another day, another time

I shall once again be witness

To that christening divine

Of yet one more glorious fall’s birth!

The Living

A Living One

You pass me by

Stopping, coming

Closer

Than expected

Your beauty on display

You feel like

Living electricity

The tingle filling the air

Around your face

And being

You glisten, shining,

You literally sparkle

With yourself

This living Power

You are surrounds

The air around you

And I bow to worship

My God

Creator, Maker

Lover of all souls!

Birds, suns

The stars rejoice in

Your Presence

You are our Life!

Your Universe is awash

In your glowing powerful

Life, Self

With every heartbeat, breath

May I praise Your Name

In the foreverness of your kingdom!

Falling Leaves

Falling Leaves

Falling Leaves

Autumn’s colors splash

Everywhere

Shy at first

until

They burst,

screaming

Through the air

Beneath a crystal sky

Blue air above my head

Leaves go floating by

Ruby’s reds, oranges

Sun’s-burst yellows

Explode within my soul

For wasn’t that your goal?

God, didn’t you do it just

For me

Rent them from your heart

Created just to please

The senses

They fall below my knees

In such beauty, your glory’s colors.

Oh, if I could die like that!

Sister, Sister

Sister, Sister
(Thistles)

Sister, sister
Whispered with a care
Waving fragile heads
In the moving air

Oh, be careful
Here they come
Strangers, interlopers
Into this our world
Under a warming sun.

Will they despoil
Or yet worse
Uproot our lives
From this gentle soil
Our loving home

Stay together
In groups they will see
To Leave us alone
Our nettles will sting
As well as any bee’s

Our heads turn above
long, lovely necks
Pink and purple strands
Of elongated tresses
Designed not for picking
By the hand of any man

Respect is all
We ask for
We too enjoy a part
In all life springing
From this,
Our God’s living soil

Angel

Angel

Living Electricity,
Are you made only
of
Energy and light?

If I stretched out a hand
Would the energy of you
Burn my flesh
if I dared
the impossible

Joining, touching the Spirit of the Living God?

Expression of His Glory,
Were you made
Just because He could not
Stop His living breath,
The Life within himself

From creating you?

If He is absolute and a perfect
Love
And if Love is about giving
To someone else, not in taking

More loving, powerful
Does He become
In creating even more
someones
To love?

Love produces only more
Love
It cannot stop itself,
Cannot go against its own nature.

We all, angel and human
move and breathe
within
This expression of Himself
His self-giving Love.
