Tears
Many tears
Upon the earth do fall
Many voices raise
Laments, they call
God hears each word
Each whispered thought
Within His own heart’s walls
Are they forever caught
Does He do the same
For all our tears
As they release
All our pain, our fears
Does He gather
Each tear as it drops
Into His loving hands
Do they make their final stop?
Does He perhaps return
All tears back to His earth
From whence they came
So they new life may seek to reclaim
To water the plants
For our souls do the same
If so,
it only goes to remarkably show
That even tears can make things grow!!
In My Ears The Lions Roar
In my ears
The lions roar
Around us
Every moment,
Every hour
Trying over us
To exert
Their destroying power
One lion roars
Then another
Loud, strong
Around us pacing
Hot breath in our face
Watching, waiting
Until a gentle whisper
Taps upon your shoulder
Soft at first
Then growing bolder
Its blazing light
Reveals Christ's
Full glory, Power,
Controlling might
As soon as they sense
This Almighty Prince
That very second
One last defiant roar emitting
They cringe
They cower
In their lower station more befitting
So do not give in
To floods of tears
Those overwhelming fears
Over everything Christ wins
His armies He will send
To bring to you
A restful peace
As in His loving embrace
He will settle His sheep,
That Lions' Master,
In a restful, safer pasture!
For All Believers
If you say you believe
In that sacrificed Savior
Guardian over our behavior
Then never speak His Name
In public
Will you not be subject
To a more severe form
of God's Judgement?
I believe we will
A Great Commission
Instructed each believer
To instill
In all of a lost world
God's instructions
Guides to inclusion
Or exclusion
From His Eternal Paradise
We will be like that watchman
On the wall
Hearing in our hearts God's call
Yet not warning others of the dangers
Not doing the watchman's job
Failing will bring to us both a great cost
To all will be the extreme loss
Of an eternal foreverness
In God's Loving Presence
As the prophet Ezekiel wrote
'Their blood will be on our heads'
Ezekiel 33: 6, 8 But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes someone’s life, that person’s life will be taken because of their sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for their blood. …….8 you do not speak out to dissuade them from their ways, that wicked person will die for their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood.
For Too Long
For too long God’s family
His church
Has sat silent
On too many subjects
Is this not a form of neglect?
All those eyes every day
You will look into
Faces you will peruse
Each and every one
Is the face of a someone
Ending up
In one of only two places
Do we not care
As we return their stares
If it’s an eternal Paradise
Or a hell brought about
Within some demon’s sick device
We are meant to be
His hands, his feet
So get out there
Make known his fame
Carry his name
And help save Christ’s world
This glowing, rotating
Large green pearl
So all may see his light
And a Holy Spirit’s flame re-ignite!
To Trim
God does not waste words
Nor does He mince them
Away with the useless fat
Of words will He always trim
Saying what He means
For He is unable to lie
Upon His words you may depend
Or someday may be required to die
When He says don’t
Do something
He means it
So forever leave it
That thing
& don’t do it!
His words are there
To bless you
Although at times
They will most certainly
Test you
But still in that deepest part
Your innermost heart
Allow them to caress you!
The Cell
Alone
And in my empty cell
I try to find the words
To tell
Of Your Great Beauty
You come to me
Across a dark, dampened floor
Only the light on Your Face
Helping my soul to soar
Over & above
Whatever life’s tomorrow
May hold for me in store
So,
Whatever prisons you
Must face
Only on our Christ’s
Loving face
Will you be allowed to trace
The strength, courage
You will need
For your songs to sing
Of this Prince of Peace
This Heavenly King
as upward toward
His Heavenly gates
He alone carries each soul
On the Purest of Glory’s wings!
