Dream Followers
Was this all before it came to be
Only for God an idea, maybe a dream
Until He was actually fully able to see
His universe, our earth spinning
His green ball,
Pure, holy in the beginning
Seeing our first steps, first words
Before the lines between good & bad
By us were so badly blurred
I guess you could say
God followed His dream
So,
Should today we say
Follow your own human dream
If we are created in His image
To us we hear that this must seem
A good thing, a right way
To try & live each day
Under our own imagination’s spell
But wait,
We are not our own god
By us was not created
This universe
This earth we trod
We’re part of a creation
Not the Creator
Let us not turn our lives
Into an even greater aberration,
Or abomination
Seek God’s dream for our lives
Thus, truly can we daily strive
And find
Truer joy, peace, contentment
To give us more of this
Was our Savior born & sent
To show us the truly greatest way
Over a lost world to hold full sway
And more purely daily dream!
Imagine
Imagine,
If you will,
A group of people,
A church,
Not too far a stretch
Calmed into a sleep
By
A lullaby
Of a distant world’s drums
Soft, at first,
Then suddenly
Exposing sharp teeth
Gouging out eyes
Seeking souls to blind
Demons everywhere
Pulling out the eyes
Unaware, blindly people will stare
How, oh, how will they awake
From what they believe to be
Only a blissful state?
What catastrophe will it take?
This lust for comfort’s sleep
How will it be slaked?
Perhaps only a great pain
God may have to use
If from this dulled sleep
They do not rouse,
& reach for eternity to gain
We will need help
So,
Watchmen on the walls
Ring out in a strong voice
Sound out a great call
We need no further debates
To save one and all
Before it becomes indeed
For our country, this world,
Much, much too late!!
Somnambulant
(sleepwalking)
Somnambulant, (walking while asleep),
We walk by
While in most of our cities
Our children lean & cry
Rivers of large tears flowing
All this pain & fear now showing
Rearing its head in lives
No longer afraid, feeling no need to hide
A black mist covers our senses,
Our hearts & cities’ walls
Deceived, most do not even know
The direction in which to call
Until,
Come, Lord Jesus, Come
Ring out those words
Only with Your power
Can we stop this deceiving hour
Of our own demise
In this land, this country
Please, Oh please, do not
Our desperate cries deny!
True Beauty?
All we have of any beauty so true,
Dear God,
Is always & only the great I AM
Of You
All of us, so corrupted
Our own lives we keep interrupting
With sin so calloused
Our wandering selfishness
Our greatest test
As much as we can
We need to let go
Swim back into the natural flow
Of Yourself, Your Love
Overwhelming comes Your Glow
Like the greatest of floods
Showing in the things you’ve made
In this even nature has much to say
Froom sparkling stars in the sky
To the translucent ethereal
Wings of a fluttering butterfly
The great beauty of your heart
Before you even attempted a world to start
Was what goaded you forward
Until at last we stood before you
Your shining, newly-born human child
A whole universe awash with your love
Flying, soaring thru heavenly gates above
Carried down on gentlest wings of doves
To the crusty hardened dust of this earth
Until upon it at last
Fell the blood of Your Only Son
Forever bringing to us a cherished new birth!
JUST IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS! My new Childrens Book, THE CHRISTMAS TREE ANGEL, is now available on Amazon.com Below is a description.
On a cold, wintry Christmas Eve, a decoration in the shape of an angel hangs on the most beautiful Christmas tree in town, the tree in the large city park. Even though the same snowy white as the other angels, she is made fun of for the too small, misshapen size of her wings, but only she has enough kindness in her heart to want to help two unhappy children who pass by her tree. Because of her wish to be able to help the children, she is given the power to fly by a special Christmas star.
She suffers through many dangers in order to help the two children and their mother have a merrier, brighter Christmas than they would have had without her kindness. For her courage, love and compassion, she is given a final reward as the sun rises over a new Christmas Day in the city!
Here is a short video of some of the water scenes along our town’s greenway system. I mixed one of my poems previously loaded onto my blogsite into the water video. Hope you enjoy and may God bless your day! This video is also available on my youtube channel https://youtu.be/HyC7laMEhDQ
