Rare Sighting

I got so lucky this morning. I was on our greenway system again on my bicycle. As I started, I saw this huge bird at the top of a tree and thought it was a great blue heron which we commonly see along the river. However, it was black. As it turned its head, I could see the solid white head and knew then it was an American Eagle. It was beautiful and huge. As I rode underneath its tree, it flew off down the river, but oh, what a sight to see a huge magnificent bird like that out in the wild. They do not come into our part of the state that often.

I rode today the longest I ever have since I have started to recover from the cancer treatments. I made almost a twelve mile trip in total. I just do not understand why people come to walk a nature trail such as our greenway system and stay so glued to their cellphones that they don’t see anything but their phone screen. Some people keep the music in their earbuds turned up so high they miss all the animal sounds such as duck, geese and the herons. They miss all the beauty of the trail. Oh well, not my problem. I hope you have a blessed day and Praise God!!

Ownership?

In America we have become a nation of entitlement. People feel like they are entitled to everything the earth can produce, but the truth is we actually own nothing of this earth. We are just very temporarily using God’s property. God owns all of it for the ‘earth is the Lord’s and the fullness therein’. God owns every atom, molecule, square inch, every heartbeat, every breath on it because He made all of it and us. He owns us and can do with us whatever He desires. Fortunately for us, He is trying to love us into Paradise with Himself. John the Baptist said ‘He can raise up children of Abraham from the stones’. He is in control of everything.

Today women  in this country even think they’re entitled to kill their own unborn children while still in the womb, and so many of the ones we let live we don’t try to teach them about Christ, God and the Holy Spirit at all. No wonder they feel so lost. They have no moral compass by which to steer their lives. We don’t even try to hold our marriages together for the sake of our own little babies! Don’t think as a nation we will not have to answer for this before the Living God.

Our country is in trouble spiritually. We should all get down on our knees before the Living God, praise Him and beg for forgiveness. We are so blessed that He is the most loving, kindest and most forgiving Spirit in existence. Praise God!!

Wouldn’t you like to see. . . . ???

jesus'gloryWouldn’t you like to see Utopia? Wouldn’t we all like to see a world without pain, suffering, disagreements, wars, orphans living on the streets with nothing? We have been promised, assured we will live in such a Utopia if we believe in, try to emulate the historically documented Jesus of Nazareth.

It will begin with a revived American church. Our country leads the world in almost everything and so do our churches or they should at least try. Wouldn’t you like to see a church less divided among itself, one with more influence over the world and its culture rather than the other way around with the culture having more influence over God’s living, holy church??

I would love to see revival in the American churches. I pray for revival with more of the power of the Holy Spirit alive and well in our spiritual family. I pray for a lower divorce rate in our churches, a church less caught up in lusting after money and material possessions and one that lusts after Christ more instead. I pray for a church that is less caught up in fitting in with the world and more concerned with standing up and being different from the world’s standards. I pray for a church like the first century one that is willing to go and sell something, lay the money at the feet of our church leaders in order to help the poor and more needy in God’s family. I pray for a church whose true glory is the glory of the living Christ!

May God bless your day. Praise God!!!

Saturday Vibes

I love to get out of the city into the countryside and into smaller towns(although the town I live in is not too big). My husband and I went to a smaller town and the state park nearby. We never had seen the dam and lake at this particular park. It was a beautiful day. Some of the heat and humidity had finally left.

It’s also amazing what you can find at antique malls in smaller towns from old school desks, children’s wagons to cement angels plus I could not resist some of the lovely old restored homes and peaceful small town churches. We got to eat lunch in a small Mom and Pop city cafĂ© with the best fruit pie I had ever tasted. I recommend taking a journey to smaller town America if you get a chance. Some of these small towns remind us of the peace and liberty we fight for in this country. Get out and enjoy the beauty of God’s creation. Praise God!
