Condemnation
Condemnation
Such a harsh word
Denotes a punishment
Or even perhaps
A scourge
America's church
Should stop
Take a deep breath
We have entered
A time unique,
Unprecedented
A time of great tests
A culture caught
Tightly, as never before
In satan's grasp
Many lost souls
To his dark chest
Does he clasp
Because
A silent church
Has lost its passion
For the All Powerful
Living Christ
By comfort &
Convenience
Has it been enticed
So we have become
Cowards
At our work
Afraid to speak
His Holy Name
Or simply
As we play a game
Or is it because
We've become too lazy
Allowing all the crazies
To overwhelm our culture
Instead of us helping
God's Holy Spirit
Our lives to nurture
So before God completely condemns
His blessed more than most
American church
Let us once again
Become a shining star
Stop denying
No longer pretend
As cowardice & laziness
Are attractive on no one!
Revelation 3: 15-16 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
Exclude
Alone
At the foot of your throne
I bury myself
Deeper into you
Everything else,
All others I wish to exclude
Temporary pleasures
I wish to toss
Out of my heart, mind
Forever are they lost
Seek them only
At your own peril
They come at a very high cost
Eternity calls your name
Sometimes screams
Sometimes whispers
You just have to remember
To stop, be a listener
And of satan's fraudulent
Schemes be an eternal resistor!
Inclusive
We hear this word
Thrown around so much
Almost as if it contains
Some type of
Golden Midas touch
You must include this
You must include that
Please excuse if I seem remiss
But I do not think inclusion of
All or just the many was
Ever meant to bring us
True bliss
Love is not inclusive
Of everything
Even God's perfect love
Is not inclusive of all things
Sometimes our behavior
With His purity does not harmonize
Or always ring
He wishes to transform us
Into His Son's image
So upon our behaviors
He must place certain limits
Wishing for us only the best
So remember the next time
Someone insists you be inclusive
With flying colors will you
Pass the great test
Use God's words, His wishes
Deciding what to include or reject!
Easter
White rabbits & chocolate bunnies
All those warm, soft fuzzies
Pastel eggs hidden in green grass
Until a happy child makes
A joyful discovery of them at last
With loud, sudden squeals of delight
What a truly pleasing sight!
All dressed up in clean, bright clothes
All done for this day’s special show
Soft ribbons in the hair
New shoes, polished, & on the feet
& goodies that will not long
Be allowed in a basket to keep
Nothing wrong with these simple delights
God does not mind us
Enjoying all his blessings
But with many of these gifts
May also at times come a terrible testing
This day of Easter is really
About a sacrifice
Not to be forgotten
For all our joys & pleasures
Came at the cost of another’s life!
A bloodied cross, a broken body
An empty tomb
God’s love on display
Brought about all of the
Joys & pleasures of this day
Made us once more
Welcome in Heaven
Brought us back into
God’s loving arms
Safe at last from all of
satan’s cruelest harms
So on that most glorious day
Our eternal souls were saved
As Christ stepped back out
Into a world He owned
Eternity’s power rolled back
That oh so heavy stone
So you too will be saved
to step into His glorious garden
From your own emptied grave!!
Inside
Wearing only human flesh
Inside heavens gates
I am your guest
Invited in only thru
The Purest blood
With it You wish only
Each heart to flood
But everyone must
Decide for themselves
If to obey the beckoning call
To reverse our original, horrific fall
Or
To stand outside those shining gates
Left Alone In the dark
With a howling beast
Watching those inside
Join in Your royal feast
Ah. . . . Your light's grace, mercy & love!!
Action’s Name
Would we not say
As it is so much
In the times of our
Today
In such splendid ways
That faith without
Works is dead
In almost all churches
These holy words are
Repeatedly said
So we know to take action
That worship in a building
Is after all but only a fraction
Of what God calls us to
So in this oh so blessed country
We feed the hungry
House the homeless
Try to create a land of
Increasing social justice
But on all of our spiritual lists
There is something definitely amiss
One major point we have missed
Courage to stand up
Out loud to say the name of Jesus
Let people know He is the reason
Behind any of our good deeds
To confront evil
Be courageous
The duty of each & every believer
To call a sin a sin
Only in this way can we
Ever hope to win
More souls
So do not fear
To fight alongside
God's angelic forces
(To your life it will bring no remorse)
So after running your life's course
You may hear
From the lips
Of a Savoir so dear
‘Well done My good & faithful servant’!!
