Heaven
Heaven is not just
A place
Heaven can only
Be found
Within a face
Radiating brighter
Than any brilliant star
Shining from afar
More precious
Than any glistening stone
Do not place your joy
Or trust in that alone
Wiser than any
Human sage
He left a throne of glory
To enter a dirty, darkened
Earthly stage
Walked with us
Ate our food
Literally
Wore our shoes
So do not let
Heaven be merely
Some idyllic place
For you
For it is only found
On holy ground
Standing before
A golden throne
Manifested, seen,
Experienced in
Jesus of Nazareth Alone!!
You See
You see me
I am known
In You may I
Grow
Become
More
Of What
You wish to see
Me to be
A daughter
Or son
With this thought
May I run
Be still
Let you fill
My empty hollows
Nothings to Something
People say I am a survivor
Really something
But I say no
To you I would like to show
The Only Something
I am almost nothing
Held together
My skin & bones
As on this planet I roam
Only by the Someone
By whose hand I was
Created
By whom all our sin & death was
Abated
This living, breathing God
Is the Great Someone
At whose pleasure I exist
In whose hands joy never desists
& from whom will I never run
We live at His Pleasure
We serve at His Pleasure
At the end all heartbeats
For His Pleasure
All at once &
At last will be gathered!!
The Presence
A Presence overhead
Envelops, wraps
Covering you everywhere
No matter whether blue skies
Or how grey the air
Or with whom
The day you may share
No matter
Where you go,
Home, office, a school
While using a computer
Or some other tool
The Presence is always
There
Trying to make sure
You know God cares
In a small house or large
Dirty & small or expensive car
Very loved or destitute & lonely
If the world contained just you
He would have died for you only!
So stop at your desk, look up
Of time it will not take much
Acknowledge, connect
Take the time to select
To spend time with Him
Enjoy, even revel in
The pleasure, joy you will win
Within His Glorious Presence!
gods of earth
Caught up in the here & now
To earthly gods we tend to lean & bow
Comfort, convenience, luxury,
Pleasure
All of these we lust after
Treasure
Let’s turn away
No longer to be fools
Controlled by useless satan’s tools
& their ever growing deceit
So, turn away
From those fragile gods of glass
As easily
Will God’s truth shatter
The shining illusions
Coming close
Will His breath scatter
Destroy
Robbing them of their fraudulent
Joys!
