Huddling?

Huddling

We huddle in buildings
On one particular day
To throw a few coins
up onto a stage
Mumbling,
Sing just one more song
Hoping it won't last
Too long

Is that really
The picture
We want to paint
Of today's struggling
Church
Do we go just in case
We might need God to
Help us out of
A sudden lurch?

What's happened
To the passion,
Devotion
Of a first century
It grew rapidly,
Even exponentially
Ah, to see
That increase today!!

But
It takes courage
Putting God first
Before everyone,
Everything
So
Let our songs ring
Out loud the words sing
Into our daily actions
Out onto
The busy, chaotic streets
As other souls we meet
In our hearts
Do not let Christ's examples
Abate
As more & more
His Holy Spirit
We come to live out
& to joyfully imitate!!
