Calm Before the Storm

We have had some beautiful, warm weather for this time of year, up into the low 70’s this week. I managed to find some time to ride my bike on our river’s greenway system and take a few pictures. It make you really, really wish April and May were already here. May you have a blessed day and praise God for his goodness in allowing our world to be such a wondrous place!

Calm Before The Storm

You seem so calm and
Mostly quiet
Only sounds of water over
Rocks
Make me at water’s edge
Delight to listen, stop

No fresh young sprigs of
Green
None on delicate limbs
Yet to be seen
Today’s sun seems but
A ruse
No matter how strong
Its rays
No matter how profuse

No strong spring’s chatters
No multiple birds’ voices
Yet to be gathered
But
For today, the sun does smile
On this happy watered mile
Crystals shards of light
Fill a gently rolling river

But do not fear
Soon I’ll see a world
Once more filled
With all the noise and
Joyous colors
As spring’s breezes
Again allow my senses
To be completely thrilled!!

No Other Blood

No Other Blood

My slate wiped
Clean
Of everything I
Have done selfishly
Everything mean
And
By what you say?
Christ's Holy, Pure
Blood

On an ancient hill
called Calvary
Put forth for
Every living, breathing
Creature to see
The God-man hung
From spikes in hands
And feet
His love-filled Blood
Staining the ground

So with only from
His lips a few
Sounds
His Pure, Holy Blood
Did encircle, surround
His earth
For all eternity,
All time
Certainly not yours
And never mine

It was only Him
Our King, Lord, Creator
Savior
Joined with the Holy
Father
That made the plan
Only His Blood
Strong, pure, clean
Enough
To save corrupted
Man

So next time you're
Feeling grateful
Get down on your knees
Thank Christ for that
Day most fateful
For there was no other
Blood
That could have done
The job
Rescued us from our
Blackened sin
And
Brought us back home
To our generously
forgiving GOD!

No More

No More

No more,
No more,
From a pulpit
No more silly words
Make my ears sore
I live in the zone
Of a war
One for my only
Eternal soul

Bombarded every day
In many, all ways
By satan, demons
I need words
To wear
Thick as heavy armor

To protect against
A deranged, depraved
Godless world
It's media hounds
Slavering for my blood
World leaders
Drunk, intoxicated,
With power
Lusting for just
One more hour
On their thrones

So step up
All you spiritual leaders
Do your jobs
As satan screams
Into our ears
Fighting each human
To rob
Of God's Eternal Love!

My Need! (ai image)

My Need (ai image)

My shell
At times
So weak
So frail
Earthly
Made of only
Dust
In it
May we never
Ever put our
Deepest trust

All of that
Is temporary
My spirit
My real me
Only it
Heads into God’s
Most precious eternity

I sigh,
I long
For such
A place
Filled with
Only
Your perfection
Your glory's
Holy Grace
Longing to see
Nothing
But Your Bright Light
Your Face!

Oh, God Almighty,
Help me
Make
The right choice
Among all of
This earth's lost voice
It's rising dust
May I not turn
May I not trust
Wars,
Murders
Deceits
Lies,
Chaos
In all of these
You are all
Anyone's immortal
Soul
Really ever needs!!

Of His Power

Of His Power!!

A vision was given
An impression received
Beautiful yet frightening
So clearly seen
Yet sometimes even I find it
Hard to believe

That You would honor me
With this vision
Of Your holy one
This angelic messenger
Impressed was I
Of that you can be sure

In his great power
& in silence he stood
On a cloud so white
In his full magnificent glory
And Your Most Holy Might

Beautiful,
Over his skin’s surface dwelling
Rainbow’s colors changing, moving
Of Your spirit’s beauty was it telling

His eyes full of so fierce a light
It gave my heartbeat a moment’s fright
Compelling, yet I yearned to turn away
Yet held was I & stayed

With one wink
Destroyed could he have me
Ferocious in his glory
Showing only the story
The completeness of
Your Glory’s overwhelming power

Although sometimes I think
Does it take a slightest toll
Upon the stronghold of my soul
These dreams, these visions
Yet I beg please, please do not scold
Because I have from the very start
In telling of had only best intentions
For your soul’s peace of heart

Sweet Aroma

Sweet Aroma

Today in many stores galore
You may find many exotic
Fragrances
Many excellent aromas
Be it of multitudes of flowers
Or of the world's array of spices
Among the glittering shelves
May you peruse for hours

But there is none so sweet
In which you may indulge
From your head to your feet
Than that special heavenly
Scent
Of a Savior whose
Life was poured out, spent
Just for you

So while it is your Today
While you still have some say
Some choice
To decide
Letting go
Of your Self
In which most of this
fleshly world dwells
Carry His Sweet Aroma
Out to a dying peoples
Of our precious Christ
For us who died
Who made such
An agonizing sacrifice
Wishing only
To sprinkle Himself,
His Aroma,
His Sweet Goodness
Into us
