Not want to pray
Every single day
Not have something
To say
To the One who made you

Don't you secretly hope
Dream, desire, wish
To see something higher
Much better than this
Ugly, mass of confusion
The abuse?

Such great physical beauty
All around us
Literally trying to 
Pound into us
The magnificence
Of its Creator
He uses all living things
As His great theatre

So lean into His Spirit
In Eternity will you live
Never to regret it
So pray now,
Pray hard
Empty out your heart
For you
It will create
The beginning
To your soul's
Blessed, new & fresh start!

Gathering,
A great darkness
A world clothed in chaos
Spinning to regress
Going backwards
Because
It does spurn
A Savior's love
& suffering

A once bright nation
Founded upon
Its Christ's sacrifice
Now once, twice,
Perhaps even thrice
Rejects His name
More & more
From its shore to shore
Oh, return to us
Please once more!

We can do better
Help us to cling to
Each word, 
Each letter
Within Your precious book
For we know 
It is within our hands
Our choice
To reject 
Or

To take our stand
Upon Your words
Realizing at last
It is only
Your strength
Your power
Lord Jesus
That holds together
Undergirds
Everything

So, forgive us we pray
May we never again stray
So far away as we seem
To have done in this 
Current time, this day

Winter

I got to enjoy a bike ride along our river’s greenway. Even though it was cold, still I enjoyed the trees, water and some wildlife. Without their leaves, you can really see the actual shapes of the trees, especially the beautiful old sycamore trees with all their white bark. Winter's beauty
Owns its own allures
Exhibited in true joys
Although not as green
As luscious summer's toys
But still entertaining
Desiring also our
Approval to be gaining
For remember after all
Tis the mighty hand of God
Creates its chilly framing
And it's rampant charms 
Oh so most beguiling

Only
A part of His creation
Earth, water, sky & sea

Immortal living souls
Formed
As life arose
In His hands
From the dust,
The dirt
Of His created land

So follow your Creator
Even if we are only
Temporary vapors
Here today 
Gone tomorrow
Living in some joys
Yet still at times
Very great sorrows

But,
Follow Christ still
That man who
Shed His blood 
Upon a crusty hill
For that was
Their will,
God's will,
To always bring you
Back home!

The punishment
Of its own creation
Only Christ
Indeed there was 
No dereliction
Of His duties

Dear friends

There are
Important matters
Much more
Pressing
Faith in Christ,
Hope, Love
For you see
Upon the existence
Of their surety
Rests entirely
Your eternity's security

To empty myself

Of all worldly lusts

Waging war

Themselves

Into my heart,

Battling,

They thrust



With their painful swords

They slice

Fighting to cut

heaven's cords

But your hands

With Your love's power

Your fingers

Around my soul

Entwined

Reaching deep

No satanic, hellish

Demons

Can ever reach



So that is why

Every day

I must repeat

As I work, play

Walk or sleep

Not I but You

In me that lives

My salvation

Dear Christ

You protect

And into eternity

You keep!
