To Enlarge!

To Enlarge

Enlarge my ears
So I may hear
Your message
So much more clear
But not just for me
But so that others
May also see
Your Glory!

Enlarge also their ears
So You may stretch
Their ‘hearts’
For all our spirits need
A fresh, new start

Please save us
Since you love us
This most earnestly
I pray
Each, Every Day
For You, Dear Christ,
In your power, might
To stop all this vicious decay
Around us!!!

At Night!

At Night

At night
I dream of your face
Hardly daring to believe
You would give me
This taste
Of You
Your Beauty
Overwhelming Power
Completed Purity

Such intimacy with one
Such as You
More than I, mere man,
Can ever comprehend
I pray never will it end
Praise You, Lord God,
Praise You

In golden splendor
You arrive
Settling somewhere above,
Between,
All my why’s
To Be
As You Will Be
So,
I tremble on my knees
Gratitude
Contained in tears, it falls

Again,
 I tremble at your call,
But I dare not
Do not wish to resist
For this I live & breathe
Waiting, I cannot fully
Conceive
This future hope
Of your Magnificent Eternity!!

Dream Followers

Was this all before it came to be
Only for God an idea, maybe a dream
Until He was actually fully able to see
His universe, our earth spinning
His green ball,
Pure, holy in the beginning
Seeing our first steps, first words
Before the lines between good & bad
By us were so badly blurred

I guess you could say
God followed His dream
So,
Should today we say
Follow your own human dream
If we are created in His image
To us we hear that this must seem
A good thing, a right way
To try & live each day
Under our own imagination’s spell

But wait,
We are not our own god
By us was not created
This universe
This earth we trod
We’re part of a creation
Not the Creator
Let us not turn our lives
Into an even greater aberration,
Or abomination

Seek God’s dream for our lives
Thus, truly can we daily strive
And find
Truer joy, peace, contentment
To give us more of this
Was our Savior born & sent
To show us the truly greatest way
Over a lost world to hold full sway
And more purely daily dream!

On Speed

Crash, crash
Thud, thud
Lives speed-ed up
Whirling around
A distracting hub
Of meaningless behavior

Don’t think for yourself
How dare you!
Especially about a spirit?
Ignore, ignore
The impertinent chore
Of believing in
A Savior!

Believe every word they say
To guide both night & day
Allow that talk show host
Over you to hold complete sway!
Until he fails to break
The enlightened spell
& you at last awake
Yourself to embrace
In your Lord/Creator
A cleaner, purer faith!

How?

How?

How do You see
Someone as small as
Me
But somehow You do
& as I gaze up at You
You smile down

I am your creation,
Your child
Launched into paradise
But by our own hands
It became quite wild

Restless, lawless
Open rebellion
Our great fall
You tell upon
The pages of
Your Book

Wandering lost
In pain
Why do we repeat
Over & over again
All that old evil
All that old same

So inside I must look
For guidance
For a better hinderance
To my lost behavior
& so, You gave me
Your Son, my Savior
Praise You Lord God!

Return to me
I will return to you
So, each day I try to follow
That my re-birth
May be renewed!!

Hunger

Hunger

That hunger
Pushing, driving
Telling me
Something is wrong
So strong,

No matter how much
Of the world I ingest
Still somehow lingers
Distrust
Still I need,
Long for
At times I know now what

So, I continue
To eat from the world
Each of every day’s
Beginning & end
Searching, taking in

Until I say no more
I will buy no longer
From your unlimited store
Of meaningless things

Then I stand, still
And realize
That you lie
This world will
Never completely
Satisfy

Reach up
Search for God’s face
His unending grace
Only that love will
Fill up, supply
Those inner recesses
Now threatening to die
From a world’s wearying
Provision
Oh, Lord,
Help me to make
A better decision!
