Spring’s Trumpets

Orange & yellow
Your colored voices ring 
So clearly
Displayed for all to see
Piercing thru to my heart’s senses
Oh the purity in your joy-filled glee!

Trumpets splashed, splayed
Spreading further outward
Declaring that beauty again of 
One more of our God’s filled days

I stand absorbing your attractions
So welcome from this world’s distractions
Down leafy vines toward the earth
You throw yourself, never hesitant
Oh, to sleep as you in a bed 
So deep & green & pleasant

So, I rejoice as on my way
I am allowed to watch
Your graceful heads sway
Within each passing breeze

Thank you, God, again
For the beauty of your earth
My day I am allowed to begin
Watching as You bring back spring
And the joy which only that can bring
Reminds not only of a physical rebirth
but that in each new reborn spirit 
lies Your own unspeakable worth!!

Love’s sword flashes left
& right
Truly a most intimidating sight
In some hearts causes joy
In others only strikes pure terror

But, 
When it’s through
For each & the every of us,
The me and you
Will it shine so crystal clear
Those who have loved and
Held His Christ so very dear!

The Race

The Race

It matters not how 
The race begins
It matters only how
The race will end

From the very start
There will be times
That may truly
Almost stop your heart

But never fear
The Scriptures say
There is for race-winners
A much more glorious
Day!

As you step across the 
Finish line
Through death’s portals
Or when God ends for all time
satan, sin, pain, evil’s darkness

The greatest prize you will win
You will be allowed forever to trace
Looking into that Most Beautiful Face
The One who loves you the most
All will be allowed to at last boast
In that cross, that shed blood
Which unleashed into infinity
His Passionate & Incomprehensible
UNENDING LOVE!

REVIVAL

Something needs to be
Revived
If it has 
Fallen asleep or
Died

Lulled into languor
Or is it a stupor
Apathy maybe
It will take more
Time to fully see

In more of the wealthier
Countries
There is less bending
Of the knee
Faith in a Christ appears
To be dying

More & more we pursue
Earth’s pleasure 
To receive a momentary bliss
Ah, the sensation
Of an entertainment’s kiss

Driving forces beyond measure
Revealing more & more
Where are our heart’s true treasures
As perhaps pure faith languishes
More & more numbers show
It’s almost vanishing

Is there hope for it to
Be reviving
For this every true believer
Should be sighing
Return to me, I will return to you
Words of God lying 
Available still to be reviewed
In plain black ink on a page 

So let’s begin the work
It will not happen by itself
Holy Spirit let us pray
That once again you will
Rule all our nights & days
Lord Jesus, Holy God
It is only through your power
& your blood that any are ever saved!!

I love this time of year! Everything is so fresh and green, almost a perfect lime green with all the little new leaves coming out. These were taken along our river greenway system again just this morning. The green of the plants was so intense even the reflections in the water looked green. The two Canadian geese looked like they were sitting on green glass! I hope everyone has a pleasant and blessed day. Praise God!
