In A Crowd

Must I shout out loud
In the middle of this
Moving, teeming crowd
If so,
Then here goes

The main message:
God Loves You
Repent
For the Kingdom of God
Is At Hand Today!!

He is so at hand
That even now He stands
At God’s right shoulder
Just waiting
Now is our time to be bolder
As His great time approaches!

It encroaches
Upon all of human history
For it truly is the world’s
Greatest story
To gather us all back home

But unfortunately,
There are the some
Probably very many
That will refuse to listen
So among those to be saved
There will be great attrition

But today is also our day
Still are many to be saved
So use your voice, believers
Do not be silent any more
For this is our glory,
This job, this chore
To bring more back home,
So they too may also be the achievers
In God’s Love-Filled Paradise!!!

To the Core

To the Core

Muddied, bruised,
Now rotted to the core
To renew, revive, re-create
This shell’s old life
Truly for us is an impossible chore
It would take a Miracle

Needed is more power
Than mere humans possess
Only hands with greatest strength to bless
Can raise from the dead
Words more powerful than mine
Would surely have to be said

Only God can revive from
From death’s deepest sleep
All and any forms of life
This earth may hold or keep
With Loves’ greatest power
Purest eternity’s showers
And our abiding Faith
No longer will death ever again
Be able to cause anyone to weep!

A Potter’s Clay

A Potter’s Clay

Once soft & compliant
Lying now
Resistant, hard
On a cold, sterile ground
in broken shards
pieces of shattered
clay, damaged jars

Then comes those Potter’s Hands
Warm & ready
Full of good plans
They reach out to lift
And return to brokenness
The challenging gift
Of to serve a purpose

Adding water to soften
A dried-out skin
Once more He slowly
begins to win
A softened compliance
Using His own Strength & Will
Slowly is He able to fill
Restore to a fresh new life
Each worn out, damaged pot

From the roughened, sharp edges
He may receive bruises, a few cuts
Lose some drops of blood
But in the midst of His pain
Will come forth a deeper flood
Of love, mercy, compassion
For the brokenness He repairs

So now with newly scarred hands
He removes a crusty dirt’s thick layers
Revealing at last a clean new creation
Returning to it an original beauty
& of its dark uselessness, an ablation!

Big Deal!

A Big Deal

To an orphan such
As I
One of the biggest deals
I can spy
Is

For someone to desire
Cannot lift them higher
Than to want to be
My parent

And that is exactly
What God, the Holy Lord
Creator
Wants to be
For each & everyone
You are able to see

Wants to be your Father
Daddy, Papa
Wants every soul to gather
Under His wings forever
For all of eternity

No small trickle
Wave after wave rushing
Toward you pushing
Torrential flood
Of perfection’s love

So step into the flow
Take the time to
Get to know
The One & Only God
Who loves you the most
It’s the biggest, best deal
This world will ever see!

Today We Want

Today We Want

I want, you want
We all want
Those words ring
Truer than any other
Taunt
We all need
& we all have wants

Even as Christians
We all want
To:
Get to heaven
Live in God’s presence
Forever
For anyone there will be
Nothing better

For although God’s
Forgiveness, Grace
Is given so freely
Still, it is not given
Cheaply
The cost was Christ’s
Blood & life
Given in extreme pain & strife

Grace is, was not then
Nor is now cheap
It may cost you everything
Maybe even your very life
But
Is it not worth that
To live in His forever light?

So do not let us,
Christians of today,
Let mans’ world over us
Hold its complete sway
And tell us we may live
However we wish
And still receive that
Most precious of gifts
Because God does expect
That most costly of words,
OBEDIENCE!

Driving In Cars Going Nowhere

Driving in Cars Going Nowhere

People everywhere
Driving in cars going
Nowhere
Racing, rushing,
Careening, screaming
‘Get out of my way
I have a very busy day
Going nowhere’.

Sure, we have duties
Other people to take care of
Obligations done out of love
But the rest, well. . .
Sometimes just a mess
Going nowhere

Not always in cars
Sometimes in planes
Or a lonely solitary train
But
Have we lost the will
To just be still
Instead of always
Going nowhere?

Do we forget we each
Come to the same place
At the foot of death’s gate
With no choices left
Must we end life with
Only regrets
From always seeking
The nowhere?

We end up at the foot
Of God’s throne
Coming from childhood
Or when we’re grown
To be given either His light
Or a forever darkest night
Must we always roam
Toward that nowhere
So just STOP
Learn how to choose
So a much better eternity’s home
You do not have to lose!
