One Cross

One Cross

That cross upon a hill
Reminds us in lonely words
Still
Of a dying sacrifice

Every day while here
He walked, talked, cried
Then spread out his arms
On a piece of hard tree
To die
For us to justify

Only that one cross,
Although there were
Many others,
Turned us into closer
Sisters, brothers

So, listen to the words
It still whispers
Wreathed in a blood so red
Allow its words within
To ring out,
Out loud to be said

Found spoken on that tree
Some of the most important words
Ever intended for
Everyone’s life
They will surely suffice
Of,
A loving Christ’s purest
& most noble sacrifice!

Dissipation (melting away)

Dissipation
(melting away)

My shell will dissipate
Allowed no longer
To participate
At this level

The real of me
At last,
will be allowed to see
My Lord,
God, finally
Will I with you be

To be lifted up
On wings of bliss
O’ my soul
Of this I care not to,
Dare not to miss

Living in your light
Clarity, love & might
To know fully
As I am fully known
All will be exposed
At last, your truth shown
By You, God,
To be eternally owned
All this, from before my eyes
Will no longer be withheld!!

Why?

Why?

Why do we not see
Is it we cannot
Or do not want to be

Faithful, submissive
Obedient
To someone greater
Than the I of me?

Hardening of the heart
To the idea of such a God
To all of life gives
Only a very false start

Saying I don’t
Want to see
Does not change
Our Reality

Open your inner eyes
On just the physical
Do not rely
Do not wear
IGNORANCE
As a disguise

For refusal
A lack of perusal
Into the gracious beauty
Of Our Father/Creator!

Beginnings

Beginnings

Flitting & fluttering
Your ideas You bring
Through my heart
They race,
Quite literally
Out loud they sing

Rushing, gushing
Speaking your name
Always is it the same
Of a true wisdom’s King
Their voices calling,
In praises loudly ring

So, dearest God
Once again
Upon your earth
Will you trod
Returning most assuredly
Your life’s bright purity
To our darkened skies
As we look upward
With our heartfelt sighs

Come Lord Jesus, Come!

Our God’s One
& Only True Son
Name us,
Claim us,
For in this today’s now,
Our eternal journey
Has already begun!!

In Love with Jesus?

In Love?

In love with Jesus
Is that what I’m
Supposed to be?
New idea at times
Something worth the try?
Perhaps of this should I see

Infatuated, Adoring
Up in my heart should
I be storing
For someone such as Him
These feelings will He win
From within me?

The answer to all these questions
Should be
A loud resounding yes
For to love someone else
You must let go of self
Which is assuredly for most
A very difficult test

But that is what we’re
Called to be
I think I’ll try it
More just to see
What results can possibly come
From making an attempt to
Follow God’s Only Living Son

So,
Forward, onward
I will go
At times not at all to know
Exactly how to walk
Or talk like Him
My goodness, patience
At times will wear incredibly thin
But hoping more & more
As on I go His ways to win

So myself I need to remind
More than just one time
With these simple words
‘Not I but Christ that liveth in me’
Hoping, praying someday
A new better version of myself
Will this world finally be able to see!!

A Devil’s Dance

A Devil’s Dance

Around & around
Up & down
Whirling, madly swirling
This devil’s dance

To mesmerize,
Trying to entrance
To fool, deceive
Destroy
Only purpose for
A devils’ dance

More powerful than any opiate
Illegal it should be
For it teaches to never satiate
Teaches you not to perceive

Take off the blinders
Stop watching satan’s sidewinders
Frantically writhing
Rotten to the core
Pain is all that is left in store
For all who will follow
a devil's dance!
