The Next Time
People very often say
As sickness or death
Looms closer in our path
Intrudes into our life’s way
“It’s better than the
alternative.”
Meaning I suppose
As on their way they persist & go
in whatever horrific condition
to be alive
Is better than life’s alternative,
Death
I shake my head, my tongue I bite
Do they not know?
Our God in the flesh,
Spiked to man’s cruel piece of wood
Dying in His own blood so red
This one we call Savior, Christ
Turned to another & said,
Today with me will you be
in My Paradise!
Why do we not trust in His words
What awaits for all who believe
& stay loyal to this beautiful Christ
Is so glorious a Paradise
Free of all pain or strife
New body, new way to exist
Totally, completely a better New Life!
A man,
Once a fisherman by trade
Until that most compelling day
He heard Jesus of Nazareth say,
“Come, follow me”
In a letter this apostle wrote,
Live as foreigners & exiles
On this, a world so fallen
So the next time I hear
Someone say those words
I will have to be honest, I fear,
And be compelled to say
No, I live & wait for a better way
To Share in His Most Perfect
& Newest of All My Days!
1 Peter 1:17 Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear.
1 Peter 2:11 Dear Friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul.
Twisted Beauty
Long and lithe
Luxurious
In your sensuality
Yet some would only see
A twisted beauty
Gnarled, darkened in spots
Your limbs still dance at
Water’s edge
Yet still of a life to tell
Do you quietly beg
Even though not nearly as bright
as those rainbow’s lights
Cascading upon a watery top
Once you were the same
As any other
Green, alive, strong
For those days perchance
do you still reminisce & long?
But I say with all sincerity
I find your beauty refreshing
Entrancing
It reminds us that life is life
No matter its age
Or regardless of the stage
Within which it is found
God’s love & care perhaps
May yet best be seen or found
Enwrapped around those
Who all their long life
Have best fulfilled the purposes
of His grace, beauty & His light!
Steps
Step
Step
Come closer
Step
Step
I
Love You
Step
Step
I AM
Your Father
Step
Step
Take
The First Step
I Will Catch You
In My Arms
Just PLEASE Take The First Step!!
In A Crowd
Must I shout out loud
In the middle of this
Moving, teeming crowd
If so,
Then here goes
The main message:
God Loves You
Repent
For the Kingdom of God
Is At Hand Today!!
He is so at hand
That even now He stands
At God’s right shoulder
Just waiting
Now is our time to be bolder
As His great time approaches!
It encroaches
Upon all of human history
For it truly is the world’s
Greatest story
To gather us all back home
But unfortunately,
There are the some
Probably very many
That will refuse to listen
So among those to be saved
There will be great attrition
But today is also our day
Still are many to be saved
So use your voice, believers
Do not be silent any more
For this is our glory,
This job, this chore
To bring more back home,
So they too may also be the achievers
In God’s Love-Filled Paradise!!!
Core Essence
The warmth starts
Purity enters the room
Your core essence
Enters my heart
Love, joy
Contentment
Such as I have never known
On this,
Our ball of Rolling Stone
Glistening, sparkling
Shining
Literally almost blinding
Filling me full
Imparting an evening’s lull
To all chaos or pain
Is this what it will be like
Or I suspect even better
In your forever’s paradise?
To let loose, unshackle the fetters
Of all of earth’s dark chaos?
Then come Lord God
Come now!
I lift a holy shout
Pour out your Spirit
On any & all who try to crowd
Around your feet
Attempting obedience to keep
Protect & bless
But give us strength to
Stand all horrific tests
Of the gift, this precious faith,
So freely & willingly You give!
God will come as close and be as personal with you as you will allow. Take time to enjoy His company!
I came into the world as an orphan from birth with nothing, no mother, no father, no love. I was traumatized and abused both. They said I was a highly sensitive child so maybe it impacted me more than someone else. I remember only fear and terror. I was suicidal a few times, but God stays close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18. Here is a poem I wrote about my experiences. Hope you enjoy. Praise God!!!
Spit Out Into Hell
Alone, wet, cold
Shivering into the wall,
I try to fade, pushing
Into the emptiness inside,
This, an unending terror.
I crouch, attempting to avoid
The inevitable. Knowing it
Will come. Survive, survive,
Gritting the teeth
Hanging on, hoping
reprieve will come
Someday.
Despair, hopelessness
dragging. So worthless,
I deserve only
this joyless existence?
Looking up I scream
someone explain this
Why?
Until a light breaks in,
A gentle presence
Fear brought no longer
a feather-soft presence
ever over my head
hidden, between us only
a thin veil of sky.
Feelings stir
Leaving Hope.
Do Not Give Up.
I AM here.
A Wind lifts
Releasing, removing pain.
Strong, a glowing light
Shines down into
my interior.
A living God, a living
Son.
Wonder of wonders
He wants Me!
Joy begins, grows
Becomes stronger
Passion and Praise flow.
New Life Is Created.
So if I can endure
So can You.
His life can exist
Inside of you.
Remember, loving He spread out
His arms
On a wooden beam.
Death juxtaposed on top of
LIFE!
Strange but I believe
Eternally True.
an answer to the
WHY.
HE can use anything, pain
sorrow
To bring you closer to
joy.
and in the darkness give you
Himself.
