Today In Jerusalem You may hear some clamor Sounds, voices In the air float rumors A third temple they say Will bring for our earth A much better day!!
But don't they know There already is one! It is you and me If in our God Christ Jesus You wholeheartedly Do believe!!
Christ does not Need dead, cold stones In which to survive It is within the human heart He comes best to live And to most assuredly still thrive!!
As Christian believers We are living stones Built up together As one For God's Spirit A newer Home Along with His Holy Son Of this newer temple His Living Cornerstone!!
Once for all Christ's blood purifies For a whole world To see So with faith Anyone, everyone May forever live At the foot of God's throne His deeply loved, Glorified, Perfected Living Stones!!!!
This, An unusual gate An unusual shape Formed Of two wooden beams Not entirely an Unbroken seam What's known as A Cross
On it people were hung By hands or wrists From its one horizontal rung Until No longer down here Did they exist
Left to die Against God's pale blue sky But For them it was not The end For them the journey Was it just about To begin
Their souls released To step through a gate Into eternal peace Or into a darker pain For them, Their existence would Never be the same
Christ took that dark Symbol of man's brutality And turned it into the new Reality Of God's goodness, Forgiveness Love Falling in heavenly showers Of Jesus Christ's blood
So won't you step through This heavenly gate Opened daily, Always freely to you But remember, Only by your own faith As your Creator's joy-filled Heart awaits Do its portals swing wide To reveal His Glorious Paradise inside!!
God wants to give us peace found within His presence and trust in Him. He never intended this world and life to be this painful for us. Serenity Whispers in the breeze Enveloping Like a warm blanket Pleasantly around me In crystals of bright sunlight Or in darker shadows cast Here in the now and the future Or sleeping enshrined Within my past!
I got to enjoy a bike ride along our river’s greenway. Even though it was cold, still I enjoyed the trees, water and some wildlife. Without their leaves, you can really see the actual shapes of the trees, especially the beautiful old sycamore trees with all their white bark.
