A Passion

A Passion

A passion has been lost
To the winds has been tossed
Blurred, obliterated
Distorted
By modern distractions
Almost destroyed

But,
All’s not lost
Passion can be revived
If we will but try
Embers are still burning
If to His heart
we will be turning
Letting go of an ancient enemy’s lies

Stir the lurking flame
Found only in Christ’s name
Arise, ignite
Fan to life
In His sight
The now slumbering giant
Upon whom our faith is reliant
Called by the name of
FAITHFUL SACRIFICE!

Death

Death

A pulling out of the body
Will come for everyone
A removal of the familiar
It is a valley we must all pass through

So prepare yourself
While you still have a chance
While it is your Today
While you’re still this side of the grave
Do not listen to satan’s song & dance
Of denial

About
Who owns this world & us
In a darkened voice do not place your trust
Only God promises renewal of your life
A final calm, relief from all pain & strife

Why do we ignore this deep but
Simple truth
So,
In this world amidst your daily struggles, toil
Remember
Death is something no one can avoid

Oh, Please!

Oh, Please!

You say,
Oh please not this again
On that subject please do not begin
But I say yes
I feel compelled to do my best
To convince you

People do not want to hear today
Especially in the US of A
About another level of existence
To this among the world
Is a strong, strong level of resistance

Wanting to believe merely on the physical
Minds throw up all kinds of an obstacle
To believing in a supernatural
Of angels, demons, good, evil
Or heavens forbid, a God!

For them I feel most sorry
They miss out on Christ’s love
His kindness, mercy, joy-filled glory
On the face of this planet
Will there never be a more beautiful story!

Caught up in money’s lust
In themselves alone have they to trust
& only physical pleasures,
The most fleeting of all treasures,
Ignoring an inner voice
Reminding that denying death
For no one is a choice

So while they wish to wallow
Only in this physicality’s mud
I hope you will choose to follow
The Holy One from Above
& the forgiveness
Of His Beauty’s Overwhelming Love!!

VICTORY! (encounters)

A VICTORY
(encounters)

The first a black blob
Laying on my chest
Interrupting my night’s rest
Slight fear arose
But these words I chose
In the name of Jesus of Nazareth
Be gone!
Before the next heartbeat
It disappeared

The second sat on a throne of glory
(attempting to imitate the Lord of Lights)
I sensed something was not right
Yet by him was I fooled
A finger touched my lips
As I drew too near
Next day was I sick
Should’ve listened to the fear

The third resembled a child
Again lying on my chest
In form appearing fairly mild
But when it smiled (more of a grimace)
Pointed razors had it for teeth

Words proceeded from its mouth
Susie, what are you trying with this book
I needed not another single look
Again,
In the name of Jesus of Nazareth,
Be gone!
It disappeared
Lost in its own fear

The last (but not the least)
Resembled a grown man
(I was prepared though slightly scared)
Speaking again did I begin
In the name of Jesus of Nazareth
Be gone!

This one, however, did not run
Spoke these words
Oh, no, it doesn’t work like that
Replying I yelled
Oh yes it does
In the name of Jesus of Nazareth
Be gone!
It disappeared.

Forms of only black
Shades of grey, no color
Seeking to incite my terrors, fear
The demons reeking, smelling
Of darkness, violent destruction
This I wish to make absolutely clear

Unpleasant creatures were they
Yet please listen, stay,
They have not the last word
All power belongs to the Lord above
Christ conquered all such creatures
(satan even)
On a bloodied cross
Destroyed all of evil’s loss
As He at last died
& in His final sigh
Won forever your VICTORY!!

To Mars?

To Mars?

Our bodies were not made
To live on Mars
Are there not problems enough
To solve on this planet
Revolving as it does amidst
The burning stars?

Curiosity and learning is one thing
But
What about curiosity for eternity, God, Christ,
the destiny that awaits in His Paradise

Drawing nearer to our Creator
This God who leaned so close
Took on our form, our flesh
To withstand our cruelty’s test
Of dying on a bloodied cross

So would not our time be better spent
If to our time and energies we lent
The pursuit, reaching for the reality
of the Universe’s space
And went instead in search
of our Lord Creator’s face?

Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands

Fine Tune

Fine Tune

Fine tune me like a fiddle
Carve me, shape me
In your hands may you whittle
Until I sing, resonate
And to your tunes vibrate

Play me all day long
Projecting, singing
Only your songs
Of Your Joy, Love,
Glory, Stupendousness
And may I only in your hands,
Lord God,
Sound out the songs
Upon which others may dance!
