Naturalism

Naturalism

Naturalism they call it

Morality relative only to

what I think

but Wait –

that changes

each time I blink

A world so cold

Post modernism has told

Us, We, Man, no longer

Have a Soul!

All that exists

Is only what you can see

or touch

All to me is only physicality

So should I run the risk

Of losing all meaning

To all life I see which surrounds

Are We truly simply dust

Made up only of elements

Found within the ground?

There is no right or wrong

Found within nihilism’s siren song

Only a birth & a death

For each of us

Then we will no longer swim

In this life’s stream

We simply cease to be.

How depressing!

I am glad I do not believe

What I am told

By your world

I believe a holiness, a soul

Dwells within

As most ancient civilizations

Believed

We are seeds

Of a Holy God much greater!

Your Splendor

I know my camera does not begin to show the real beauty of these large sycamore trees. I think I need a wide angel lens to get the feel of how big they are. I love these. The white bark really shows through so much better in the winter without all their leaves. I hope you enjoy the photos and may God bless your today and your holidays!! Below is a silly little poem I wrote as I was riding my bike on the greenway today.

Splendor

Tall,
In all your beauty
Oh,
Don’t you think
You’re quite the cutie!
Lighter, brighter
Than all the darkened greys
For this season,
Here today
Your blanched,
Whitened skin
More glances from
The passersby
Does your grandeur win
On display your glorious white robe
And as on my bicycle do I pass
For a few moments may I simply bask
In all your warming glow!!

Right before Christmas — So much Sun

Was able to ride my bike on the greenway today along our river. It was cold but the sun was out, and I took a few shots of the sun on the water. It was full of bright, white sparkles. Really, really pretty for a December day here in the south. I hope all of you can get out and enjoy your weather wherever you live. Have a God blessed day!!

He Gave Up!

He Gave Up!

Christ did not come

To create a feel good social club

A country club atmosphere

Instead

So our black, sin-smeared

Record for all eternity

He could unequivocally clear

A glorious throne of infinity

He gave up

He came to a barn

A humble stable

Full of hay and animal slobber

Dirty, wet

So no mistaken ideas

Of wealth, lust for money

Would we mistakenly harbor

For this a light filled throne

He gave up

He came to a cross full of

Pain, agonizing torture

So with His death

A broken relationship

Between man and the Father

He could nurture

To give us, you, a Holy,

Forgiven future

For this, through ripped

And torn flesh,

His own blood

Christ gave up!
