The City

A Wondrous City
This Holy Jerusalem
Containing at one time
A temple built for only
           HIM

His presence to visit
Between golden cherubim’s wings
He listened
While choirs on its steps
To Him did sing
His Name
His Power
His Fame

To it one day
This Only God
Will return
After all evil
Is vanquished
Destroyed
In one heartbeat,
Burned

So we raise holy hands
As we fall to our knees
In obedience’s path
Seeking only to please
(to be transformed
your earth & us)

No longer to rebel in ignorance
Against your beauty
To rise to Your higher calling,
That greater, purer duty
And follow Your Forever Call
Watching, waiting
As once again your raise
Her holy walls
Regrow, renew
Re-begin
This Holy Jerusalem!

Come

Come

Come, Lord Jesus, Come
Lord, King
My Master
To us, please, please return
Rend the sky
Waiting, I watch
Look up & sigh

But first,
Come perhaps
More softly
In Your great love
Rend, tear our hearts
Of this world
Surely, You’ve had
More than enough

Help us, lead us
Show us only for life
Your way
On the face of this planet
Tired am I of an ever present
Internet
Its siren song, misleading fantasies
Enchantment

Save us as only You can
Before you choose to return
To create Your promised land
New Earth, New Heaven
Make us Your hands, feet
Put in our hearts Your Love
So evil’s destructive voices
May You at last
Totally, completely defeat!

A Stupor!

A Stupor

In a stupor
We walk
Unaware
As we stare
Blindly
At a world
Only physical
We think
But if you blink
In only one small wink
You can awake

Supernatural
All around
Those beings
Angels to do
His bidding
demons always trying
their own way
To be winning

After walking
On His planet
He left behind
Upon it
A few
Who were
Awake
Then more followed

Until it was
More & more
Now upon
The near & so distant
Shores
More eyes
Hearts wakened

So join
A growing crowd
Even if
You have to shout
To tell what it is
About

Before
It is too late
& their stupor
We cannot abate
As those who
Are now awake
most patiently
await
His return

Why This?

What Else?

What else is there?
Nothing rings true
Where upon this planet
For this
Lies the cure?

Everything
Rings of the temporary
Over it
Literally stumbles
I know this sounds contrary

A world’s song
Completely different
I know we all long
To believe it
But its useless voice
We must bury it

Wars will come and end
Governments rise & fall
Even death our bodies
Will be allowed to rend

So, listen to the voice
Of your God/Christ
Because there’s really
Nothing, no one else
As He comes back
And we watch
As all the old away
Does melt!

Half A Chance

Half a Chance

Alone
In the cold
Trembling, shaken
A thick darkness enfolds
My heart
Only an unknown terror awaits
For each this is
Our fate

Until You came to fulfill
A plan known only by a few
Before any of creation
Designed by a Father, Spirit
And also You
To save and rebirth
All of your humanity
Living on this green earth

You came to save
Our only chance
Nay,
May I say
We had not half
A chance
Until you came to dance
Among the living dead

So thank you
Holy Christ
For offering yourself
In us you wished to see
Your face
So my tombstone could read
This one He saved
In vain He did not bleed!

Hope everyone has a happy Fourth of July and stay safe! Praise You Lord Jesus!
